THE REALM OF YAVANNA KEMENTÁRI ANTHEM

Oh say, can you see by the Two Trees’ fair light,
How proudly she stands, Yavanna the Valië,
Like a tree in the spring, with her robes glowing green,
And with flow’rs in her hair that make Aulë sneeze.
She warbles all day as she goes on her way,
Walking o’er the wide earth, which makes Manwë say:
“Oh say, does that tall, singing Valië yet fret
For the fate of her Trees? Guess I’ll ask for some Ents!”

She moves through the night, all grace and poise
The forest is hushed, there is no noise
The trees are whispering, they're calling her name
The Eldar are drawn to her like moths to a flame

Her beauty, her strength, the love in her heart
The Two Trees she made to ward off the dark
She cares for all life, especially for trees
They call out her name, the whispering leaves

As she walks flowers bloom under her feet
Her beauty eternal, her loveliness compete
Of the Valar she is held of highest of worth
Yavanna Kementári, Queen of the Earth!

~ Yavanna in the tongue of the Eldar means "Giver of Fruits" and her surname, Kementári, means "Queen of the Earth". Also called Palúrien which means "Bringer of Fruit".

~ She is the wife of Aulë the Smith and the older sister of Vána the Ever-Young. With Varda being the most powerful, Yavanna comes second among the Valier (female Valar). Upon the plain of Valinor rose her house filled with many magic webs. In her courts were some of all the trees and plants that grew upon the Earth with a pool of water among them. In the early days of Arda she often dwelt in the plains of the Middle Earth spreading the wealth of her gardens. It is said that most wonderful flowers bloomed under her feet as she walked.

~ Yavanna's greatest creation was the Two Trees. She sang a beautiful song and with help from Nienna, who watered the ground with her tears, she grew White Telperion and Laurelin the Golden with the sound of her voice. After Morgoth destroyed the Trees, she was the one who created the substitutes: the Sun and the Moon. She also suggested using Silmarili to recreate the Trees.

~ Her gardens in Valinor are the source of miruvórë, a reviving cordial of the Elves with the power to grant renewed vigour and strength.

~ When Yavanna found out about the coming of the Dwarves she was greatly concerned that her beloved trees would be destroyed by the creatures of the Earth. She went to Manwë and pleaded with him. Manwë, having already promised something else to Aulë, allowed Yavanna to create protectors of the trees that would make sure the Dwarves didn't annihilate whole greenery of Arda. Thus came Ents to existance, the Shepherds of the Trees.

~ Yavanna is said to be a tall, young woman, clad in a green robe. Sometimes she appears as a tall tree.
