Serves: 3 baking sheets
Prep Time: 10 minutes + baking
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk(as we don't have sweetened condensed milk in Austria, I alsways use condensed milk with hones; actually, I think that's even better)2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cups quick cooking oats
2 cups chopped dried fruits
1/2 cup coconut OR chopped nuts
1/4 cup unsifted flour
Instructions
Canoe trip cookies:Preheat oven to 350°F (=200°C)
Mix together in a large bowl:
sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice
2. Add and mix well:
cooking oats
chopped dried fruits
coconut OR chopped nuts
and unsifted flour
3. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased, or parchment paper lined, baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until lightly browned.
Immediately remove from baking sheets and store in a covered container.
The great thing about this recipe is that it can always be altered. So you can use dried apples, raisins, chopped almonds and a lot cinnamon, or you can try rather tropical cookies with dries mango, apricots and shredded coconut. A mix of apricots and cranberries is very good too, but feel free to invent other variations!

Great cookies. Very tasty and easy to make. Can be eaten with everything, everywhere and at any time. Try them!
do you know what flour I could substitute for regular unsifted? and what I could substitute for the oats? I have to be gluten free otherwise I can’t wait to try it!
