Description: Bilbo serves this at various parties, and is famous throughout the Shire for it.
Thorin and Co. enjoyed it very much on that day before Bilbo's adventures began.

This recipe turned out perfect and the seed cake was delicious! I definitely will be making this again!
Just popped this into the oven, in about forty minutes, I’ll be able to try a piece. The only thing I changed was to add caraway seeds, per the info I found about seed cake in the Annotated Hobbit. Update: looks good, very cakelike, smells nice.
Updated Update: Delicious, great moist texture, not too sweet and really tastes great with tea and coffee. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!!!!
How many gr is there in a stick of butter?
I made this last night for a goodbye party for some of the biggest LOTR fans I know. Next time I’ll butter the bundt pan more thoroughly because some small pieces stuck when I popped it out but on the whole, it turned out quite marvelous. When it had cooled, I dusted the top with powdered sugar. I’m trying to remember if I added enough sugar because it wasn’t very sweet but I think that’s how it’s supposed to be. It would have gone perfectly with some herbal tea and raspberry jam. Once again, a delicious cake and not overly sweet at all. I will be making this again soon!
