Ingredients

10 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped into 1" pieces
5 slices bacon, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
1 lb. smoked sausage
1 c. milk
1 lb. Velveeta cheese, cubed
Salt
pepper
water for cooking

Instructions

In large pot, fry bacon peices untill done. Place on paper towels to drain. Reserve. Drain all but a little grease off.

Put in onions and cook over medium heat until clear. Add potatoes and enough water to cover; continue heating till water comes to boil. Add sliced sausage and cook until potatoes are done. Add milk, stir and lower heat.

In 4-cup measure, place about 1 cup of broth. Whisk in 2 tbsp. flour; stir into soup. Add cubed Velveeta and stir untill melted. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serve with piping hot, fresh-from-the oven bread to really warm up the bones!
