Ingredients
8 oz. flour1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger powder (ground ginger)
2 oz. butter
2 oz. brown sugar
2 tsp. golden syrup

Instructions
Oven: 170 degrees C.Mix flour, baking powder, ginger and cinnamon together in a large bowl.
Cream butter, sugar and golden syrup together in a separate bowl. Stir in the flour mixture then roll out to 5mm on a well-floured board.
Cut out Hobbit shapes using cutters; use snipped currants for eyes. Bake 15 minutes at 170 degrees C.
Cool on rack and decorate as desired.

these were really good! i made them for a lotr movie marathon with my friends and i shaped them into the members of the fellowship. I had to use a few substitutes, though; for golden syrup i used equal parts of honey and light corn syrup. also my butter hadn’t been soft enough when i put it in so i added an egg at the end because the dough was kinda crumbly. But overall these were excellent!!!
