Ingredients

1 medium cabbage
2-3 cups of rice
1 cup white wine
1/2kg mushrooms sliced into quarters
1 shredded carrot
1 pkt of fresh cream
1 teaspoon turmeric
butter
sliced mozarella or any cheese that melts.

For the sauce:
1 medium onion
1 clove of garlic
1 can of tomato puree
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
some mixed spice
mild curry
pepper to taste
dash of oregano

Instructions

1. Boil the cabbage leaves and when tender drain and let them cool down.
2. In the same time cook the rice and add the turmeric in the water. When cooked, drain and let it sit.
3. In another saucepan, melt the butter and add the mushrooms and carrot. When tender add all the rice and keep stirring. Also add the wine and butter. When the rice absorbs the wine and the butter had melted, add the fresh cream and stir until it thickens a bit.
4. Take the cabbage leaves and spread on the table. Each packet must have more then one leaf but not more then three.
5. Distribute one slice of mozarella cheese per pack. Into each pack spoon the rice mixture. then fold each like packets and bind with string ( so they will not open during cooking). put them into a tin and place them until the grill for 5 mins until they begin to brown.
6. In the meantime prepare the sauce. in a sauce pan, saute' the chopped onions and 1 whole clove of garlic until tender. Then remove the garlic. add the tomato puree and aste, mixed spice, pepper , mild curry and oregano. Let it simmer a bit. If it evaporates, just add a bit of warm water. Do not overdo it.
7. When the cabbage packs are ready, place in the sauce while it is simmering. Let it simmer for about another 5-10 mins.
8. Serve alone or with nice mashed or roasted potatoes.

PLEASE REMEBER TO REMIND YOUR GUESTS TO REMOVE THE STRING!!
