The Space Station is having its 1st annual Spaceys Awards and TTT has been nominated for “Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie”, “Best Visual SFX’ and “Best Action Sequence”! Also, there are Viewer’s Choice awards, which you can vote for here.
There is a RotK trailer available on the internet. It was obviously filmed by someone when it was shown on a cinema screen, so the quality is very bad, especially at the end. It is to be found on a German Lord of the Rings-site: Herr-der-ringe-movie.de

A bit of news at Sci Fi Wire regarding the 29th Annual Saturn Awards, presented yesterday–The Two Towers won two awards, for Best Fantasy Film and for Best Supporting Actor (Andy Serkis as Gollum). Also, the award for Special-Edition Release of a DVD went to The Fellowship of the Ring!
A Gollum’s work is never done! Sci Fi has a good interview of Andy Serkis who says that he is still shooting motion-capture and doing additional voice recording for ROTK.
A child is reading under the covers with a flashlight powered by Duracell batteries, while the scene keeps changing to the Rocky Mountain Rescue Crew in action. There’s a line in the script about how the batteries are trusted both for saving lives and for “illuminating a world of wizards and hobbits”. The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have both made it into the Top 100 List from a nation-wide vote in ‘The Big Read’. People were asked to submit their favourite book, and there is to be a program about it on at 9:05 pm on BBC Two and 10:05 pm on BBC Four. Unfortunately you can only see this if you live in Britain. But you can visit the web site!
