New Zealand makes LOTR Coins!

New Zealand has started the production of a special edition LOTR legal coin series that is to be released later this year. It is a tribute to the trilogy and its impact on New Zealand. To see these coins and read more about them visit Scoop!

Okay, we’ve all been voting for our favourite movie and our favourite actors, but for those of you who are interested and haven’t seen, CBBC also has a poll to see what your favourite computer game is! Today, July 18th, is Sarah Mcleod’s 32nd birthday! (She plays Rosie Cotton in LOTR.) For those of you who are interested, she was born on this date in 1971 in Putaruru, New Zealand. Happy Birthday!

Comic-Con starts today!

It is said to be the largest fantasy, sci-fi and comic book convention in the United States. From July 16-20 at the San Diego Convention Center, New Line Cinema will bring The Lord of the Rings to life with a spectacular display—including a special live LOTR program on July 19. CBBC Newsround has Legolas contest!

CBBC Newsround is giving away three signed film cards (a glossy card with pix on it) from his new film, Pirates of the Caribbean! And although the prize has nothing to do with Lord of the Rings, the question you have to answer to win does: What character did Orlando Bloom play in The Lord of the Rings? All you have to do is answer this question, give your name, your age, your town, and your e-mail address. The closing date is noon, guessing GMT since it is a British site, on August 4th.
