The Lord of the Rings – stage version

At Playbill.com you can view the television commercial for the stage version of the Lord of the Rings. After Thanksgiving this site will be showing an exclusive behind the scenes video of the show.

At the official website, in the Behind the Scenes section of the site, you can read the first part of A Hobbit’s Diary by Owen Sharpe (Pippin) and find out about the first day of rehearsals.

CoE TV Guide: November 20th – 27th

Have you ever wondered when your favorite stars from Lord of the Rings will be on TV? Now you can know! The CoE TV Guide will list almost all of the shows featuring actors and actresses from Lord of the Rings, and what channel their show will be on (US only). All times EST.

Ted Nasmith exhibition

On 10th and 11th December, The White Hart Hotel, Moreton in Marsh, UK, will be holding an exhibition and sale of original artwork by Ted Nasmith. The exhibition will also feature artwork by Ruth Lacon (illustrator of The Tale of Gondolin and The Ruins of Osgiliath) and a selection of Tolkien antiquarian books. Lord of the Brush

Lord of the Brush, a film about artist John Howe will be shown tomorrow, 20th November on Bravo Canada at 8pm EST. The French language premiere of the film is on 27th December on TFO at 8pm EST. There’s further information about the film here.

The Lord of the Rings – stage version

Yesterday, at the World Travel Market in London, an audience of travel agents and tour operators, were given a mini preview of three songs from the forthcoming stage version of LotR. Rosalie Craig sang Arwen’s, The Song of the Traveller. Finnish folk group Varttina sang The Cat and the Moon and The Fellowship Song. You can read the full story at The Globe and Mail.

Lembas for the Soul – signing at LotR Exhibition

On Saturday, December 3, 2005, many of the contributing authors for Lembas for the Soul How The Lord of the Rings Enriches Everyday Life, will be signing the book at The Lord of the Rings Exhibition at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis, Indiana. The afternoon signing will be an informal “launch” party for the book, and all interested fans are invited to stop by and meet the authors.

Happy birthday Craig Parker

Today is Craig Parker’s 35th birthday. He was born in Suva, Fiji on November 12, 1970. He played the role of Haldir in the LotR films. There are some great pictures of Craig in the role of Haldir in the CoE Gallery here.

Hugo Weaving and John Howe in the Battle for Middle-earth

Electronic Arts has announced that in their forthcoming game, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II, Hugo Weaving will be providing the lead voice work and artist John Howe will also be creating new places and creatures for the game. There’s further information at EA Games.
