CoE TV Guide: April 30th – May 7th

Have you ever wondered when your favorite stars from Lord of the Rings will be on TV? Now you can know! The CoE TV Guide will list almost all of the shows featuring actors and actresses from Lord of the Rings, and what channel their show will be on (US only). All times EDT.

The trilogy may be over…

…but merchandising is still in full swing! If you’re looking to continue building your collection or even to start one, the CoE Store is the place for you! Tolkien weekend

The seventh Tolkien Weekend will take place at Sarehole Mill, Birmingham, UK on 13th and 14th May. This year’s theme is The Shire and events will include themed walks, an exhibition entitled “Tolkien’s Boyhood in Birmingham”, archery and excerpts from The Hobbit performed by Shire Productions. The Battle for Middle-earth II

Patch 1.03 for The Battle for Middle-earth II is now available at EA.com. The patch addresses various technical issues and includes 5 new multiplayer maps.

LotR stage show run extended

The ‘Lord of the Rings’ stage show in Toronto has had its run extended until 24th September. The show was due to end its run in June, but a further twelve weeks of tickets have gone on sale, along with a lower entry-level price of $26. Read more at Yahoo.

Vacaville Middle-earth Festival

Just a reminder that the Second Annual Vacaville Middle-earth Festival takes place from 21st to 23rd April – This weekend! The venue is downtown Vacaville, CA, and the festival begins on 21st April with a forum on Themes of Tolkien. On 22nd and 23rd April events include; music, crafts and old time skill demonstrations There will also be a trivia contest, a ‘Long Expected Party” and a Gollum impersonation contest.

Happy birthday Andy Serkis

Andy Serkis celebrates his 42nd birthday today. Andy was born on the 20th of April, 1964, in Ruslip Manor, England. You can view some pictures of Andy here and pictures of Andy as Gollum/Smeagol can be viewed here.

Lord of the Rings Symphony

On 21st May the Colorado Symphony Orchestra will perform Howard Shore’s Lord of the Rings Symphony at Boettcher Concert Hall, Denver, CO.

On 24th and 25th June 2006 the symphony will be performed by the Royal National Scottish Orchestra at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, Scotland.

Happy birthday Sean Bean
