One Morning Long Ago

One Morning Long Ago, a Middle-earth and Tolkien inspired exhibition, will take place on 20th-23rd May at Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire, UK.

The exhibition features the works of Ted Nasmith and guest artist Ruth Lacon. There will also be a programme of events including music, readings and guided tours to local Tolkien related sites. There’s further information at ADC Books.

The return of the exhibition

From 14th April to 20th August 2006 The Lord of the Rings exhibition returns to Te Papa Wellington, New Zealand with a number of new exhibits including exclusive new interviews with Peter Jackson the cast and crew. For further details you can visit the museum’s LotR exhibition sitehere.

Treebeard on the move

BBC News report that the site for a proposed statue of Treebeard, to be created by by Tim Tolkien, great-nephew of JRR Tolkien, is to be changed so as not to distract drivers.

Daniel Reeve to attend Elf Fantasy Fair

Daniel Reeve, the New Zealand artist who provided the calligraphy and maps in the LotR movies, will be attending the sixth Elf Fantasy Fair. His work in the movies included the Red Book and the map of Middle-earth used on film merchandise.

The Elf Fantasy Fair takes place at Castle De Haar, Haarzuilens, Holland on 22nd and 23rd April. There’s further information about the event here.

‘The Hobbit’ on stage

The Cinnabar Theater North, Petaluma, CA, brings J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’ live to the audience. The play will be on stage for two weeks beginning today 6th of April. You can read about the production at Argus Courier.
