New Line fined in “Lord of the Rings” lawsuit
The Los Angeles Times report that a federal magistrate has fined New Line Pictures $125,000 for failing to produce potential evidence in Peter Jackson’s lawsuit over the accounting of the first “Lord of the Rings” movie’s income. Judge Stephen J. Hillman fined New Line on Sept. 18, and instructed the studio to retain and pay for an outside electronic document retrieval service.

i can’t believe this is finally going somewhere, its amazing. do you think this means he will have an involvement with the hobbit? or will things be even more messed up?
As to that, we can only wait, and hope.
This could get dirty… It makes New Line look dodgy but on the other had if all the evidence that they may have been cheating PJ has been destroyed that’s not so good cos it’ll be hard to prove if if they are withholding money.
