Housing crunch bankrupts The Shire
The collapse of the real estate market has forced ‘The Shire’, a Bend Oregon housing development inspired by The works of JRRT, into foreclosure. Only one home has been sold, although another is nearly completed and 14 other lots have been developed.

How very sad. I have gone to that website numerous times and would dream of living there. It is a beautiful place and so like Tolkien’s Shire. I hope something will happen to get them out of that problem . Like a miracle at the last minute. I wonder what happens to the home that has been sold. Do the people lose that house?
