Visit Hobbiton on your next New Zealand vacation!
Unlike the set built for The Lord of the Rings, the new Hobbiton set is being built to last. According to this article in TheMarySue.com, which includes some video narrated by cast members, forty-four Hobbit holes, a bridge, and even a Green Dragon pub, will be permanently available to visitors coming to the small New Zealand town of Matamata.

This is now my goal in life. I refuse to die until I go see this. Sure I’m only 18 now, but I could live to be 111 and not die if I haven’t gone there by then!
fingers crossed that Hobbiton will not be depicted as shown in this article, white doors and bare pasture. It should ring with a presence, flowers, gardens,trees, outdoor furniture,long grass, rickety gates. As a tourist this is what I would expect to see.
