It’s a beautiful song in a way, but I don’t think it sounds dwarvish enough.
Nice. I can see the credits now.
I agree with Linwe. Though i do like the song 😀
We were all expecting to hear “Misty Mountains Cold”. Blame the trailer for that. Remember, the movie is… The Hobbit. Not…The Dwarves. I like the song, but for me, “Misty Mountains Cold” should have been the one on the credits.
Yes, well…the lyrics plainly indicate that The Dwarves are singing here:
“…All eyes on the hidden door
To the lonely mountain
We’ll ride in the gathering storm
Until we get our long forgotten gold…” and so forth.
It’s too pop and not Tolkien-esque enough for my taste. I prefer a somber, richer, deeper sound – a deep male chorus. But, it’s written for the end credits and meant to send us out the door, so I shan’t fret over it.
I wonder if we will hear Misty Mountains Cold throughout all 3 movies. I see what you mean about it being too pop and not Tolkien-esque enough. I have not yet listened to the score yet. We have all been spoiled with LOTR. In any event, our questions will be answered in less than a month.
