Is There a Middle-earth Theme park in your future?
There may be some truth in the recent rumors about an upcoming Hobbit theme park. As can be seen from this article, Saul Zaentz Company has applied to register the name ‘Middle-earth’ in regards to amusement parks, campgrounds, gaming machines and arcades etc. Details of the application can be found here.

There is also a strong possibility that they applied for trademarking ‘Middle-earth’ as a pre-emptive strike against use of the term by campground, amusement park, hotel, gaming and carnival operators etc.
They may have no current plans for upcoming use but want to stop others from diluting the value of the term.
ooooh a theme park!! it will probably be in NZ, though. >.< but if they do do a theme park they better make it amazing.
Wish they could do something in England…. 🙁
No. Just. no.
I mean, it sounds cool, but I think it goes against the spirit of Tolkien’s work.
I know that some people may be opposed to it, but I for one would love to go there!
