Annúminas, the Tower of the Sunset, was the capital of Arnor. It was built on the shores of Lake Evendim by Elendil after the fall of Númenor. The chief palantír of the North was kept there.

The city fell into ruin after the division of Arnor, when the Heirs of Elendil moved to Fornost Erain, which became the capital of Arthedain.

There are hints in the Histories of Middle-earth series that Aragorn may have refounded the city, and made it his capital after the War of the Ring.
