The 23th King of Númenor and the fourth who took an Adûnaïc title. His Quenyan name was Tar-Telemnar. He was born in the year 2960, and he ruled for 75 years until his death in 3177.

Ar-Gimilzôr married Inzilbêth, a lady descended from Tar-Calmacil. She was secretly of the Faithful, for her mother was Lindôrië of the House of the Lords of Andûnië, and there was little love between the husband and wife. They had two sons - Inziladûn, who also took a Quenyan name (Tar-Palantír), and Gimilkhâd.

Gimilzôr was a great enemy of the Faithful. In his day the White Tree was untended and began to decline; and he forbade the use of Elven languages. He punished those that welcomed the ships of Eressëa that still came secretly to the west-shores of the land and none of the Eldar were allowed into Númenor. He revered nothing, and never went to the Hallow of Eru.
