Arvedui was the son of Araphant and the Last King of Arthedain.
In TA 1974, the Witch-king destroyed Fornost, and Arvedui fled to Forochel in the north. He drowned at sea, and the Palantíri of Amon Sûl and Annúminas were lost with him.
His son, Aranarth, became the first Chieftain of the Dúnedain.
