Beregond was the twentieth Ruling Steward of Gondor, succeeding Beren of Gondor in 2763. During his rule the war between Dwarves and Orcs was fought in the Misty Mountains, but in the south only rumors came of that conflict till Orcs fleeing the battle of Nanduhirion began to trouble Rohan.

Beregond ruled Gondor for 44 years (TA 2763 – 2811) and was succeeded by Belecthor II.
