Also called 'The Battle Plain'.

The great plain outside of the gates of Mordor where, at the end of the Second Age, the forces of the Last Alliance, led by Gil-galad and Elendil, battled the forces of Sauron.

All living things were divided for this battle and, except for the Elves - who were united against Sauron, some of every kind of creature could be found on either side.

After defeating the forces of Sauron on the Dagorlad the Last Alliance then entered Mordor and laid siege to Sauron's stronghold for seven years. At the end of this siege both Elendil and Gil-galad were slain but Sauron himself was defeated and the One Ring was cut from his hand.
