Freca was a descendant of Fréawine, and a lord of western Rohan. It was said that he had Dunlendish blood in his veins.



He was one of Helm's councillors, who attempted to strengthen his power in Rohan by marrying his son, Wulf, to Helm's daughter. Freca travelled to Edoras with a force of his men to make the King agree to the marriage, but when there Helm killed him with a blow of his fist.
