Gwindor
Pronunciation: gween' dore
Gwindor was a Prince of the Noldor, and a war-leader of Nargothrond. He was the son of Guilin and the brother of Gelmir son of Guilin.
At the start of the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, he saw his brother executed outside the Barad Eithel. When he later came out to battle, he was captured, and he then spent 14 years imprisoned in Angband.
Eventually, he managed to escape from Angband, and he wandered through the lands, finally reaching Dorthonion. There, he met Beleg, and helped him rescue Túrin.
Gwindor then took Túrin with him to Nargothrond, where Túrin soon rose to Gwindor's old position of war-leader. Furthermore, the elf-maiden whom Gwindor had loved, Finduilas, fell in love with Túrin.
Gwindor fought his last battle on the field of Tumhalad, defending Nargothrond. He died in Túrin's arms.
