In the land of Númenor, in the westlands of Andustar there was the great Haven of Eldalondë which rivalled even the lands of Eressëa.

Surrounding Eldalondë was a forested area that was so filled with a multitide of scented evergreen trees that it was called Nisímaldar, 'the Fragrant Trees'.

Among the many trees that grew there was the fragrant flowering evergreen called Lairelossë, meaning 'summer-snow-white' which was first brought to Númenor by the Elves of Tol Eressëa.

The names of the other trees which grew and flourished in Nisímaldar were oiolairë, nessamelda, vardarianna, taniquelassë, yavannamirë, and the malinornë.
