Lebennin
Province of Gondor occupying the lands south of the White Mountains between the Rivers Gilrain and Anduin.
When Númenórians first arrived and began settling in Lebennin in the Second Age they found it to be already inhabited. Interbreeding since that time resulted in a mixed people where the heritage of Númenor could still be seen but where many of the citizens were still short and swarthy like the original inhabitants.
In SA 2350 Queen Tar-Vanimelde of Númenor founded the Haven of Pelargir in Lebennin above the mouths of the Anduin. Pelargir became the chief city of Lebennin and the main haven of The Faithful of Númenor.
It was from Pelargir in Lebennin that Aragorn set sail in a captured Corsair fleet to come to the aid of Minas Tirith in the War of The Ring.
