Serindë was the surname of Míriel, the mother of Fëanor. It translates as 'needlewoman'.

Serindë is also sometimes spelled differently, as Þerindë, due to a linguistic change in Quenya around the time of the Noldor rebellion. The symbol "Þ" was changed to "S" at that time. Since Míriel Serindë was born before the change, her proper name is Þerindë.
