Tolkien’s works feature many swords of many different kinds and origins. This entry will cover swords in general. It is hoped to write entries for particular groups of swords, Gondolinian, Gondorian, Fëanorian, etc and the Black Swords of Eol.

Individual named swords already have their own entries.

The Hobbit features Tolkien’s first published swords Glamdring, Orcrist and the long knife later known as Sting. They were Swords of Gondolin.
