Treebeard (or Fangorn) was the leader of the Ents in Fangorn Forest. It is not clear whether the Forest was named after the Ent, or whether the Ent was named after the Forest. Both were exceedingly old, Treebeard claiming that the Wood had seen over three ages of the world.
