Vardamir, also called Nólimon for his love of ancient lore, is accounted the second king of Númenor. However, he never actually ruled, as he was 381 years old when Elros died. Instead, upon receiving the scepter, he immediately resigned it to his son, Tar Amandil.

Nevertheless, by the laws of Númenor, he is recorded as having reigned for one year. Thus was the custom of surrendering the crown while still alive and healthy begun, and it continued until the days of Tar-Atanamir.

Vardamir lived from SA 61-471. He was the son of Elros and the brother of Tindómiel, Manwendil, and Atanalcar.
