Within the Caverns of Fate by Almost_Irish
WITHIN THE CAVERNS OF FATE
Moments pass in anguish
Muffled cries are heard
A sob, a scream
They all mingle
Into a horrific symphony
Death is reaching
Its cold hands
Into the dark of night
Not seeing who it reaches
Only knowing it has found prey
And it will take them
One by one
Until the battle ends
Waiting is worse than death
For they know not what transpires
Beyond the cavern walls
Little hope is nourished
It has forsaken them
Or so it seems
They cringe with each
Pound of the ram
Against the deeping gates
With each strike
Their fear mounts
What will become of them?
Will fate be kind?
Or shall it send them no help
And leave them to perish here
In the darkness of the caves…

cool. it really made me feel like i was there! yet another great piece of writing!!!
This is fine poetry. I love the choices of words and the chilling phrases are excellent.
Simple and short, but hard-hitting. Loving it.
Everything is already said in the above three comments! It is amazingly written, makes you feel like you’re there, perfect word choices for it, and hard hitting. Written with passion, obviously. Very amazingly written piece of work.
