Silivrentolwen -very beautiful, I haven't seen that movie but I want to
.

Thanks! I know this is a thread for LOTR related poetry, but I couldn't help myself. I thought maybe it could be an elvish song, probably the ones that lived in the Forest of Mirkwood, and their homeland, of course, being over the Misty Mts., so it kinda fits. . . . doesn't it?

*gasps* So many links, so little time!!!

Feel free to post any poems that you wish Silivrentolwen, they do not necessarily have to be LOTR inspired.

Oooo! I finally got one! Yesterday, I put on "Twilight and Shadow" from the ROTK soundtrack, and I wrote a poem about Arwen. I wrote it as if I were her, and the words just flowed from my pencil. I'm not really sure what kind of poem you would call this, like free verse or whatever else, all I know it the rhyme scheme is:
a
b
c
b

To Love the Fallen

Like he faintest breath of air
Your life is to me.
When ages pass, I shall remain,
And you shall cease to be.

Here I lie alone with thee
Ever dwelling in my mind;
Painfully, I watch and wait,
For I've been left behind.

War, the thing that keeps us torn
From each others loving arms,
Threatens to devour thee,
And do the world more harms.

Shall I wait her, my dear love,
For tidings of your defeat?
Or shall I sail across the sea,
With memory of our love, retreat?

It is he tragedy of your kind,
And the gift to the Edain,
To live and die, in peace or war,
While Eldalie live on in vain.

Our love with loss forever bound,
And with uncertainty,
Bitter and sweet, I have to choose.
I have weighed them carefully.

Namarie, a Eldamar!
Thy white shores I shall not see!
Undomiel shall never come,
Lest death deliver her to thee!

Tears of bitterness and joy,
Flow down my weary face,
Luthien, I know your pain,
To love the fallen from grace.

Very sad. I understand her character so well, and it's hard not to think about what she gave up for Aragorn.

Edit: Okay, was it that bad? *taps on computer screen* Did I scare you all away with my bad poetry? :feedback:

Hi! All the poetry here is amazing. I've basicly always liked poetry, so here is one I wrote a LONG time ago. It seems kinda stupid to me....BUT ANYWAYS!!!

Trees

Trees,they are seas
Of flowing green and brown.
Swaying in the breeze
With the wind, upon the ground.

They have many lines.
These lines, they are fine.
Making all trees divine,
All of those fine lines.

Infested with birds,
Birds that fly in the sky.
They are not herds,
But birds, oh so kind.

Thus are the trees,
Flowing in green and brown.
Singing in the breeze,
Swaying all around.

um....so.....thats it! But I wrote it when I was like 7....so it really doesn't seem too good to me....thats just me!

D'oh! I just found this thread! I have peeped in this forum several times, but I was always looking at the regular topics and never saw any poetry posted! It just never dawned on me the poems would be up here! Oh, well. If you can't get enough poetry, we also have a club in the Clubs section called... Poets of Rivendell (I guess either great minds think alike or obvious themes are, well... obvious!)

You guys have some great poetry here!

I will post some poems here in the future and if you guys want another place to get feedback on your poems, you are welcome to join us. We are currently playing with triolets and acrostics!

http://www.councilofelrond.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Clubs&file=index&action=ViewClub&clid=37

Poets of Rivendell is almost a poetry workshop, so it is compatible without being competition with what you guys are doing here!

A Triolet for Aragorn and Arwen

Her face in dreams still comes to me,
Her dark hair fanning, shimmering.
As shadows cloak the road I see,
Her face in dreams still comes to me,
To light this path of prophecy --
The Evenstar's fair glimmering.
Her face in dreams still comes to me
Her dark hair fanning, shimmering.

If you are not familiar with the trolet form, we have a workshop at: Triolets.

Stars

Glimmering daffodils
in the black night of Arda,
over the Sundering Seas –
gift from the Ever White Lady,
guiding steps in the shadow
until the world is renewed.

Image Reeling and foundering, as ever more strong/ The chanting swelled, Felagund fought,/ And all the magic and might he brought/ Of Elvenesse into his words./ Softly in the gloom they heard the birds/ Singing afar in Nargothrond,/ The sighing of the Sea beyond,/ Beyond the western world, on sand,/ On sand of pearls in Elvenland.

Hannon le, VendeaErunyauve!
I really enjoyed reading your beautiful triolet for Arwen and Aragorn!
I have written a few poems about them too. Here is one of them.
There are Aragorn's thoughts.

Her names

Tinuviel I called her,
like the one forever lost, beloved and holy;
and Dancing Silver, Twilight Eyes,
My Rest, My Sky, My Shore and Sea;
Undomiel forever young,
untouched by night or evil thought;
the Hope on Men and Sigh of Elves,
Divine and Elda, Mortal Queen,
in endless love Forever Mine
till world will break.

A Pony, Name of Bill

Well, we found ourselves in Bree after we left Tom Bombadil,
And we met up with a Ranger who sure looked like he could kill,
But we found a friend in Strider who took us to Rivendell:
Mr. Frodo, Merry, Pippin, me and our new pony, Bill.

Well, I always loved the Shire; I love flower, blade and rill,
And I love my Master Frodo and his cousins fit the bill.
And I came to love our Ranger, and I'm loyal to him still,
But I had a special fondness for a pony, name of Bill.

Well, at first he was malnourished but he had a stubborn will,
And he fattened as we wandered across vale and over hill.
And he followed us to Moria where the mines would suit him ill,
So we turned him loose, and I wept as I said good-bye to Bill.

Well, we had our share of sorrows, suffered more than one farewell.
We saw Elves, and Orcs, and Oliphaunts, and Elf Queen Galadriel.
I have seen my share of wonders and held treasures of mithril,
But I never could forget a certain pony, name of Bill.

Well, we made our way to Mordor after crossing Emen Muil,
Where I fought that sneak-thief Gollum and some Orcs I had to kill,
And I smote that monster Shelob with the light of Earendil,
And as we trudged I often wished I rode that pony, Bill.

Well, we finally won the battle, and our quest we did fulfill.
And they crowned our Ranger Strider in the land of Elendil.
To the Shire we finally returned; as we crested the last hill
The others rode fine ponies... me, I rode my old friend Bill!

hmmm.... how come these lovely poems haven't been submitted to the fanfic section? Some of these would stand a good chance to picked as the poem of the month to be featured in the Council Courier newsletter.

Hi guys,

I have a poem that I have been working on in Sindarin for awhile but haven't gotten it quite right yet but here's the English.

Elladan’s Lament (Dreaming of his home far away)

Fair Imladris,
Though far away,
We still dream
Of water falling.

Fair Imladris,
The autumn trees ignite to golden the hidden valley,
The scent of apples heavy in the air.

Fair Imladris,
Frosted with the lace of winter’s white.
Star fire shines as cold day
Descends to night.

Fair Imladris,
Your sons long for
The warm and merry halls.

Very beautiful poem, sindarinelvish! I love Rivendell and I understand Elladan's feelings!

"Fair Imladris,
Though far away,
We still dream
Of water falling..." *sighing

Here's one I wrote a very long time ago. It's about Aragorn and Arwen's engagement.

The Dreamflower

Hidden under trees of gold,
Where long-awaited tales untold
Wait to embark from Earth and sky,
To times of ancient days gone by.

Two silhouettes upon a hill
Long to share their hidden will,
And embrace beneath the moon-lit sky,
Whisper an oath that will never die.

Dúnadan the Tall of noble men,
His love, the fair Lady Arwen,
Rejoicing under the stars above,
Declare their long-undying love.

It's short, but I think it turned out pretty well. It's one of the only rhyming poems I've written.

Very beautiful, Adablaer!
You know, I remembered Lindir and his short talk with Bilbo in FotR.
"We cannot answer your question at one hearing!'' said Lindir.
I should say now: "We cannot answer at only one poem! We want more!"

A Man Like You

Once I rode a pony small;
I sat upon my father's knee.
My mother sang fair lullabies
And placed her warm arms around me.
My father said, "Be strong! Be brave!
And strive to win whate'er you do."
I scarce remember, just in dreams
That once I was a man like you.

Once my father passed away,
And I ascended to the throne,
My mother said, "Be strong. Be brave,
And make this kingdom now your own."
I took the sword. I chose the blade
And wielded it to claim my due.
At least it seems thus in my dreams,
When once I was a man like you.

Once a noble came to me
Austere he looked in raiment grand.
Reading the desires of my heart,
He placed the future in my hand.
To me he said, "Fight strong. Fight hard,
This ring shall win what you pursue."
And when I placed it on my hand,
I ceased to be a man like you.

And now my flesh has turned to ruin,
My fine robes rotting with my skin.
And I with man no more commune
Except my howl upon the wind.
My blade now tears through mortal flesh,
Knowing no man's blade can undo
This evil that I have become --
I, who was once a man like you.

So when you hear the howling wind,
Recall my voice as fell it falls --
The scream of evil agony,
Remind you of my father's halls:
The boy I was; the choice I made;
The power I sought; then was seduced.
The evil token on my hand --
Could you refuse it - a man like you?

~The ones that we Love~

A co-op poetry project by
Ninin-Isilaiwu and Milyon-Níniel(myself).

The sun rises above the hills.
Full of beauty, the time stills.
Alas, it's beauty can not compare,
to the beauty of those for who we care.
Like elves more fair then the sunrise!
the palest of faces, voices so wise.
The sun so fair above the mountains,
Bathes in light like silver fountains.
Alas, it's beauty can not compare,
to the beauty of those our love we share!
~~

~Ninin~
In the wake of the night,
my thoughts are bendt on thee with all my might.
In the sunrays of the day,
my thoughts are bendt on the like a fiery ray.
In the night we lie shivering under the coat of stars
I hold you close to me, I can feel your warmth.
Your heartbeat rising... more,more
One can indeed wonder, why we have war...
In the wake of night...
~~

~Milyon~
A despairing breath, I gasp for air...
Your eyes, your smile, the smell of your hair...
What to write when I'm all out of words?
I sence that the morning comes.. I hear the birds..
There are no words to describe your beauty, your my wonder!
I see the night passing by, its going yonder.
I just love you.. I'm so rich, beacuse you are mine!
I just want to hold you.. and you know I am totaly thine!
A despairing breath, I gasp for air...
~~

Where have they gone? The day is bare,
the sunlight dark, and cold the air!
Tears and sorrow from our eyes.
The empty feeling after our many goodbyes...
We miss our beloved ones..
The pain and fear...
We just want to kiss the ones we hold dear..
~~

~Ninin~
Our quarrels may take us apart,
Our quarrels may leave us with a shattered heart...
Yet again our love was remade
to be left alone ney more I was afraid.
I saw you as you leaved,
and for my breath I heaved...
Now I can love you deep into the night,
Yet the night is dark, our hearts form a light.
Nothing dark we fear,
for together we will make it disappear.
~~

~Milyon~
A tear for you falls from my eyes.
I miss you so, the light inn my heart dies..
But yet some light is left, for hope is still to see you again!
and there you where, as sent from above.
Your smile the most glorious and full of love!
I rose and walked fast towards.
Your smile said more then any words!
I have missed you so much, I said!
But finally our paths together again led!
I held your hand's, you kissed me so.
I wish that this moment would never away go..
But now I'm here, missing you again..
A wound that can never be mend..
unless when I'm with you, the pain goes away!
I wish we could always together stay..
A tear for you falls from my eyes.
~~

~Ninin~
What lies beyond the next door?
I hope our love carries on forever more.
When our lips meet, I am whole,
I can feel your love deep in my soul!
You are mine, as I am yours.
So let us together walk through these doors!
Let us see what lies beyond..
~~

~Milyon~
I stand here, I'm all alone,
I wait and wait, I miss my home..
My home is in thy arms.
I'm waiting for thy smile, thy charm!
Come with me. let us share our hearts.
By all the love, and all the arts,
your the most amazing! your the one.
without you, my life would be long done..
But you give me purpose, meaning and life!
But when we have to say goodbye, It's like being struck by a knife..
My heart is crying, and bleeding for you..
My head is grey, and I feel so blue..
It hurts so badly inside..
come! let the morning sun ride!
Come with me let us share our hearts..
And forget about the dark knives and darts!
~~

We stand together in light.
Together the battle of endurance and waiting we must fight.
Another time, other places,
we will never forget their wonderous faces!
They live in our hearts, souls, and minds.
The oath of love, us together binds!
Life has changed, now it goes!
Onto new shores the boat now rows.
We still wait for the day we shall see them again.
Our loved ones and the time we together with them spend.
~~

Dedicated to: Andrea, and Cecilie .

Everyone's poems are wonderful!

Here is a poem I wrote one day lying on my bed and staring out the window. I thought of Arwen in her dying dress and wondered if I too could fade like an elf.

Fading
Like a flower that has seen too many summer days I lie here
Last faint beams of a dying Evenstar.
Like golden leaves that fall in Autumn I decay here
Last of my love finding you.
Like the tattered butterfly I stay here
Hovering between either side, Fading in and out
-I'm waiting for you.

I have had something rather strange happen to me before, I'll be in the middle of writing something LOTR and an Elvish word will pop up into my mind. Last time I wrote "Eldarion" in a poem that was formatted like Galadriel's song without knowing that was Aragorn/Arwen's son (it had been while I was still reading FOTR). This time I started writing and stopped when I penned "Melian"....came on COE and looked her up. Here's the result of that:

Song of the Nightingale
Only in these tales are our fortunes foretold, Melian.
Woven together and spun of gold
Like the broken Nighting's song.
Only on wings of Raven deep are we borne here in our sleep.
Together we wander, you and I,
Under so silent a slated sky.
Where are the stars the Valar command sing?
What is love to be so trifle a thing?
Was I a part of you before you loved him,
Mere Child of Illuvatar,
Or am I the incarnation of her who bore Luthien?
Once, Maia, you traveled far.
But I am bound here, Luthien's mother
And wonder if I'll love another
Half so much as I loved this:
These sleep-driven songs of Nightingales.

Okay so I decided to post my poor attempt at a triolet here. I had some help revising it in the Triolet section under the Poets of Rivendell club.

I hope you enjoy it even though I think that it is terrible. *gets angry at self for being so pessimistic*

Anyway let me know what you think:

A pair of twins grin defiantly
As they fight in a dance of knives,
Survival not a guarantee.
A pair of twins grin defiantly
Since they won't let the orcs go free.
Vengeance taking over their lives,
A pair of twins grin defiantly
As they fight in a dance of knives.

Oh yeah and I still need a title. Any ideas?

*peeps in after a prolonged absence, settles down to read the new poetry*

DarkElf in the Second Age
The Sailing of Númenor

A vision from the past I never thought to see
Waves like mighty hands raise it
The Land of Gift kisses the coast of Lindon
Undine-driven, feathered by swans
Glowing from the Golden Lands where once it harboured
The ship of earth that bore away my folk long ago
Before the Sun and Moon were dreamt of;
Now a home for the New Men of the West

Only up here on the Blue Heights can you see it all
So vast, glittering in the jeweled sea
Many friends are there from whom I have just parted
Saying my short good-byes; I hope to sail there soon
To see where Númenor anchors in Time
But now, I am content to stay out of the joyful confusion on the quay
And bid my final farewells with the voice of my heart

Even so far from the business, I find that I am not alone
A golden lady has joined my position
As quiet as she is graceful
As beautiful as I am dark and plain

"Altáriel, will you not bless the Travelers so that their voyage is smooth?"
I ask of her, and Galadriel replies:
"In the grace of the Valar does that island sail,
And with Ossë at the helm it shall not be steered ill.
All my hopes go forth in accompaniment
But my disquiet I shall keep from them."

"What do you mean, my Lady," I ask
For somehow a shadow seems to eclipse her immortal beauty
"What darkness do you see that might threaten Númenor?"

She turns a smile upon me, and I forget the shadow that I saw
But even as she leaves my side, a chill lingers upon my skin
And I wonder about Númenor and the future of Man

The hour appointed has arrived
The tide full in, the winds now tamed
A dark tear gathering on the cheek of Middle-earth,
She breaks away, a trail of lacy foam lingering
And Númenor moves in stately grace
Out to sea, far from these mean lands
And as the horizon takes her to its bosom
Lights spring up along all the shores
And Númenor sparkles like a nest of stars
Before she is lost to my long sight

Journey to the Sea

Sindarin son of Thranduil
In Mirkwood's growing shadows dwelt.
In Elven halls of fantasy
Beneath the stars, under the trees.
Gone, the years of complacency:
No more the magic dinner feasts,
Deer driven out by cunning beasts.
The shadows grew a doom to tell
That must be brought to Rivendell.
A culminating prophecy.

At Elrond's table tales were told
Of Nazgul seen and rings of gold;
As tempers flared he made his case
To aid a friend, defend his race --
Irked by the Dwarf's obduracy.
A strange pact forged in anger joined
Thranduil's son and son of Gloin.
Nine walkers made the choice that day,
A journey planned and then away
Burdened with the war's urgency.

O'er barren lands to Mordor's mines.
Orcs the least threat his bow would find -
Fell victims of his accuracy.
Through dark and danger, fire and flame,
The Balrog's whip and fiery mane.
At last escaping at great cost -
Their guide, their friend, the Wizard lost.
Despairing in their misery,
Still pressing on o'er glade they ran,
Into the trees - enchanted land -
In Lorien's woods to find release:
A time to mourn, a time of peace,
Until the fateful prophecy...

A boat ride South to Amon Hen,
Where Rauros falls, the River ends;
As did the Fellowship that day.
Two hobbits gone; two swept away
By orcs, Saruman's progeny.
And Boromir succumbed at last,
Then lost his life while standing fast
Against the orcs foul piracy.
To Rohan fast on foot they flew
To find their friends, their bonds renew.
Into the Fanghorn woods they dared -
A meeting caught them unprepared:
The White Wizard's conspiracy.

Dark days grew darker as they tread
Where none would go - Paths of the Dead.
There Aragorn cast off his doubts;
His power drove the dead to rout
To usher in his legacy.
On Anduin the dead host sailed
Vows were fulfilled -- the host prevailed.
Yet in triumph on Gondor's field,
Legolas knew his doom was sealed
While gulls called o'er the war's frenzy.

As Denothor spurned Gandalf's plea,
Snared by his own complicity.
Frodo and Samwise journeyed on.
The company looked for the dawn
While battle raged on endlessly,
Fighting the fell and monstrous beasts.
They bravely suffered selflessly
Until the reign of Sauron ceased,
The ring destroyed, the lands released;
The King was crowned; the world knew peace.
For Legolas - dichotomy...

Such wonders have I known and seen,
Such friends I've had, such victories,
Such joy I've felt beneath the leaves...
No more for me... no more to be...

Ne'er more at rest under the tree,
My home become a fallacy.
Gulls on the shore call out to me;
The tides rise in supremacy.
A yearning born from dormancy
Waking me from complacency.
My heart cries out for clemency,
For succor from the thing it seeks --
The doom proclaimed in prophecy.
Will my heart never more run free?
Until at last it finds release
Beside the sea... beyond the sea...

Ok I'm going to take a shot at this, the one I'm putting up is does not have to do with LOTR, but I'll post some later that do.

Days and Nights

The good days here seem to hurt the most.
They bring back the most memories. The good
Times, and better days. I look around, and
They don’t get it! None of them! When night
Comes I feel calm, I let the blackness
Surround me. I become numb, but I don’t
Care. It’s the only way to get away from
People’s judgment these days. I let the
Dark change me. It helps me forget the
Pain, the memories of them, and how
Bad I miss them. As days and nights go
By I watch from behind these scared blue eyes.
The pain is unknown to others. Days break me,
Nights save me. But no matter what
Another day will come, and the cycle will
Start all over again. Days and nights…

Hmmm *thinks* It could be about Arwen if I wanted it to be.

Eowyn's Song
For All Shiledmaidens

Those dear to me gone - to war or the grave;
And he who to me like a father had been
Was lost to me also, become but a shade.
One haunted my footsteps both daylight and night,
His words like a poison seeped through me as ice.
I looked for a hero to rescue this maid;
I looked for a shelter to banish my fright.

But I’m a shieldmaiden, a daughter of kings.
My destiny calls me to loftier things.
No longer shall I in my bower take flight,
For I have been called to defend what is right.
I take up the sword and I carry the shield,
For I have a purpose, a power to wield.
I look for no hero, a hero am I,
For I’m a shieldmaiden and daughter of kings.

In that fateful hour as I fought with my fear,
My future arrived as three strangers drew near.
A new wind was blowing and pierced through my soul,
Emotions ripped through me; my choice seemed so clear.
Awakened at last to a longing like fire
My heart beat in time to the song of desire.
I followed my Lord and I followed my King;
I followed my heart, but my heart was a liar.

Deserted again, left alone, left behind,
I heeded no man; I made this battle mine.
Donning helm, mail and arms, I rode out with the host;
My war cry echoing the pain in my mind.
I took up the sword and I became the shield;
I rode into battle, my heart cold as steel.
I slew the fell WitchKing to rescue my Lord,
For I was a warrior with power to wield.

I am a shieldmaiden, a daughter of kings.
My destiny calls me to loftier things.
No longer shall I in my bower take flight,
For I have been called to defend what is right.
I take up my sword and I carry my shield,
For I have a purpose and power to wield.
I look for no hero, a hero am I,
For I’m a shieldmaiden and daughter of kings.

The dark breath consumed me; in darkness I dreamed.
Awakened at last by the touch of the King.
Deserted again as the forces rode South,
But this time I was not alone as it seemed.
The kindness of one who was wounded like me,
A gentle companion, yet noble was he.
He taught me to look past the darkness to hope,
And gave of himself and his love selflessly.

I am a shieldmaiden and daughter of kings.
My destiny drew me to more noble dreams.
No longer afraid in my bower to hide,
No more to be bound to my anger and pride.
I put down my sword and I lay down my shield,
The bright blade of love - this new power I wield.
A hero’s heart finally granted to me;
I am a shieldmaiden, and love set me free.

I'm going to post this, but I'm not a member. Just a warning. . .

A Prophecy
Four there came from the West,
Of their kind they were the best,
One master of swords, one slinger of stones,
One excelling at staves, one shooter of bows,
All unique, yet all the same,
To bring the Kule-alei back again.

This is the 'background poem' for a story I'm writing.

well, this place seems interesting. I've never really bothered to look in here until I happen to have stumbled upon this place today. I've read some of the poems. good writing!
I hope it's ok if I post a poem.

My Heart

All I want to do is watch the wind blow by,
All I want to do is look and see the love in your eyes,
My heart is beating faster with every hint,
On my heart, after this, will there be a dent?

Laughing and talking along the ocean,
Everything seems to be in slow motion,
Somehow like this all is a dream,
Us, laughing and joking and pretending to be mean.

Will he break my heart?
And I'll never be able to restart,
Like my relationships of the past?
But this one I'm sure will last.

I wrote that one last year in the summer. It was about when I went on a spring break trip with my church there was a guy I liked and so yeah....he was so sweet and I was scared that if it turned to a bf/gf relationship it'll turn out to be likemy others which ended horribly.
well, I'll have to come back here more if that's ok.
well, happy writing everyone.

Well...here's a couple of poems I wrote a couple of years ago. My writing style has improved since then but I like to read these just to remind myself that yes, I have improved, and I do still like a couple of them.

Is this really me?

As I look at you, looking at me
I know I've seen your face before
Maybe it's something in your eyes
The power, the fire that I despise
As a stranger in my skin you stand before me
An enigma through the looking glass
Hair as black as ebony
Eyes as green as jealousy
Is this really me?
A soulless cardboard cut-out
Who cannot cry
and cannot love
whose personailty is determined
by the clothes that you wear
An empty box
a decorated shell which hides no treasure
This is what I see, is this what you see?
Is this really me?

The Invisible Girl

'What's your name again?'
It's a common question, I hear it all the time
And everytime the answer's still the same.
I'm the Invisible Girl
I'm the girl who's always there but sometimes not
I'm the girl who's mute yet has a voice
I'm the girl who you can see but never saw
The classroom chameleon
The Invisible Girl

I Know You

I think that I know you, I see things in your eyes
I think that I know you, I can see past your disguise
I see it when your hand shakes
I listen to your silence
I know the way your mind works and
I feel the way your heart loves
But now you've built this wall between us
See how tall it stands
I can't see you over top it nor hear your silent pleas
And however loud that you may scream
And however loud that you may shout
Your voice is taken by the wind and carried far away
What I would do to Unbuild this wall
and see you as you are
Raw
Naked
Bleeding
What I would give to see you just one last time before you
Self destruct

Under the Waves

White horses ride
Under the waves
Do you hear them calling?
They're whispering to me
They want me to follow them
And how my heart desires to
Follow
Under the waves
In search of
Atlantis
Numenor
Cities buried long ago
Under the waves
Where I can't go

Perhaps...

Life is short
But is it really?
It's the longest thing we do
But maybe I'm just a pessimest
Perhaps life's just a rung on the ladder leading to eternal bliss
Or maybe I am right
Perhaps religion is purely a marketing campaign
And life is but a fraud
And death is but the death of batteries
Once dead thrown into the bin of commercialisation
Forgotten immediately
Memories banished to another Realm
Perhaps....

These are actually some Lord of the Rings poems. Again, written a couple of years ago.

Shieldmaiden

As cold and pale as a morning in spring
dutiful neice to a forgotten King.
A flower in winter, a desert in rain,
A woman who fears neither death nor pain.
A river of Gold, upon a mountain of rock
A heart too heavy for her to unlock.
Éowyn, shieldmaiden rode with the King
As cold and pale as a morning in spring.

Elrond's Lament - I hate this one. But I figured I'd share, for the banter.

I have seen the future, I know what lies ahead
I have seen the future, and daughter you are dead
I have seen the future, of tears that shall be spilled
I have seen the future, of men that shall be killed
I have seen the future, and I know what's in the past
I have seen the future, and daughter you won't last
I have seen the future, and I can't change a thing
I have seen the future, and the fate of your King
I have seen the future, it is in your hands
I have seen the future, set sail from these lands

Gollum’s Discovery

Taters, taters golden brown
Taters, precious, plump and round
Taters cooked within a pot
Taters stewed until they’re hot
Taters, taters very nice
(Not like nasty Elvish knives)
Until today we did not agree
Then the hobbitses made us see
We know now that we were wrong
And that is why we sing this song
In hopes that hobbitses will hear
And they will no longer fear
That we have been without
The taste of taters in our mouth
Hush, the hobbitses come back!
Will they notice we’ve had a snack?
