"I had to warn you, mellon nin." Legolas replied. "Something is not right."

Aragorn nodded appreciatively, though his expression remained grave. "I understand, friend. And I am ever grateful for your warning. I'll send out some scouts as soon as I can to see what they can find."

In the corner of his eye, Aragorn spotted Legolas' horse. His hair was soaked with sweat. The poor beast looked exhausted, but not spent. Legolas would never mistreat his horses. "In the meantime," Aragorn continued, looking back to Legolas, "why don't we take your horse to the stables? Arwen can take care of him," Aragorn turned, and smiled at his wife. "That is, if she has no objections. Otherwise, I can have one of the servants do it." The last sentence was neutral in tone, but truthfully, Aragorn rather disliked delegating tasks to the servants. He still hadn't quite gotten used to being king. It just didn't feel natural to pass off on a near stranger something that he himself could easily do, or what Arwen could take pleasure in.

"And then you can have a rest," Aragorn said to Legolas, "and we will discuss the threat afterward."

Arwen smiled. “I’ll take care of him,” she said, and walked over to the horse. He looked up at her suspiciously, but once she began stroking him gently, he relaxed and she led him to the stables. She lead him into a stall, filled the grain bucket, and tossed in a few flakes of hay. He buried his head in the hay as she stood next to him, brushing his coat.

She was nearly done when she heard soft footsteps. They were very soft, like they didn’t want to be heard. She held her breath and stood quietly, trying to listen. The footsteps stopped in front of the stall next to hers and a second pair of footsteps, quiet like before, entered.

“This better be good. You sure it‘s safe in here?,” a man’s voice said. She didn’t recognize the voice, but she knew it was no one from Gondor.

“Yeah, it’s safe here. No one except the stable-hands come down here,” another voice said. This voice she did recognize. It was one of the servants, though she couldn’t remember his name. His voice continued on, “I have everything you asked for. All the papers, every last one of them. Better be all of them, took us long enough to get them.” She heard a shuffling of papers and the other man chuckled. “Well, the downfall of Gondor should not be so hard now. If they go and aid the hobbits like anticipated, we shall play their every weakness until we have conquered two lands at once.” Arwen bit her bottom lip hard until it bled, trying to keep from crying out. She listened as their footsteps had disappeared until she left her hiding place and silently crept back to the castle. Us…that meant their were more spies in the castle she thought.

OOC: That is fine.

BIC:

“I am sure she will be fine with you going. We shan’t get into any trouble,” Frodo said. He smiled slightly at Sam.

Frodo sighed and looked out the window. Rain was trickling down the window and it was a gloomy day. “I would wish to leave sooner, Sam. I have a feeling we might have escorts if we tarry for long,” the hobbit said, “I have already started gathering. All we truly need is food and only enough to get us to Rivendell. I do not wish to stop in Bree along the way.”

*~*~*

Merry looked at Pippin. “Yes, I think we should go and eat,” he agreed attentively, going to the kitchen.

OOC: Fast-forwarding a few days

BIC:

*~*~*

Gandalf rode with fierce determination. He searched the lands for anything out of the ordinary, but saw nothing. Stopping on the top of a hill, he thought. He was near Buckland and soon Frodo and Sam would be there. “I think I should go and meet them,” Gandalf declared, riding off in haste to Buckland.

Merry was fishing with Pippin. He was tired and very troubled. He hardly slept and when he did, Merry had horrible nightmares. However, he kept quiet about them. He stared into the water, but looked up when he heard hooves. The hobbit jumped up and ran to the road. “Gandalf,” Merry declared.

Gandalf hopped off Shadowfax and as Merry bound over and hugged him, laughed. “Hello, Master Brandybuck. How are you doing,” Gandalf asked, looking him in the eye.

“All right, I suppose,” Merry replied, pulling Gandalf over to where he had been fishing.

*~*~*

The week had passed hastily. The day of the journey dawned beautifully. It was sunny and warm. Both ponies were ready and so was Frodo. “Don’t worry Rosie, I shall bring him back in one piece,” Frodo promised.

Pippin sat, he was fishing with Merry but so far they had caught nothing. Pippin couldn't help but notice that Merry seemed very tired, he wonder if he was feeling well.

Pippin laughed and smiled when he saw Gandalf.
"What a surprise! What are you doing around here Gandalf?" Pippin asked, he smiled.
-----
Legolas nodded a thanks to Arwen, then followed Aragorn.

Once he was given a room Legolas laid down, he would rest until he was called to speak with Aragorn.

After a short rest Legolas decided to walk around, everytime he closed his eyes he couldn't get the thought of an attack of his mind.

As he walked outside he noticed many servants staring at him, he noticed one man seemed particulary concerned about Legolas being there. Legolas nodded politely and walked on, not thinking it was anything important.

The man watched Legolas for a moment. "I'll have to tell the others about this. An Elf could mean trouble for us." The man said, then he hurried away to find the other spies.
-------
Eowyn sat down on the bed in their room. She couldn't wait to return to Edoras, but she would have to watch until Eomer was ready and he was quite busy.

"Eomer, how are things around the village?" Eowyn asked.

Sam smiled back, hoping Frodo's words would hold true. But truely, what was a journey without trouble? Unrealistic. But Sam had always been something of an over-worrier. He tried to let is slide for the time being, they hadn't even started their trip. There would be plenty of time for worrying much later on.

Frodo's words did not so much suprise Sam, as startle him. He had known Frodo would be anxious on leaving for the trip... but he hadn't thought it would have been this obvious.

Sam was torn, as usual. He wanted so much to go out for another adventure, but at the same time he had just gotten home. True, it didn't feel the same... and he doubted it ever would. But atleast he would like to give it some chance. Ohh boy Sam, he thought. Over analyzing had also been a specialty of his.

Sam nodded at his masters words, and the thought of Rivendell brought a smile to his face. How he had loved the time they had spent there last time.

"It will be good to stop by Rivendell again," Sam said - the longing obviously appearing in his face.

______________________________

Many thoughs filled Sam's head as the week went by. And although he grew more and more excited every passing day, the excitment did not grow alone. Worry found itself a place, as well as fear, .. and energy.

It would be good to be back on the road again. And this time their journey was looking much better. He had broken the news to Rose very well, and she said she had seen this day comming. Rose really did know Sam and Frodo better than they knew themselves, or at least... better than Sam knew himself.

He smiled, turning toward his pony. Patting him on the side, he whispered, "Well, I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I hope you are too."

Gimli surveyed the lady that stood before him from under his shaggy brows. “This would be Bristle,” the dwarf said, patting the pony’s neck. “He might seem sweet to ye, miss Thoroniel, but he is as much a demon as a young lad. So ye have come from Valinor, ye said? I have heard stories, but I’ve lived in Middle-Earth my entire life.” He straightened his back to his full height, which didn’t amount to much. The dwarf swelled his chest in an important fashion. “I am Gimli, Gloin’s son, and one of the Nine who ventured on the quest to destroy the ring. I can see that ye have suffered more than any should have. But ‘tis just a hunch.”

Amazed that he had found someone so early in his journey (for he didn’t know the number of elves in Eryn Lasgalen), Gimli inquired Thoroniel as to why she was there in the first place. “What brought ye here to this place? Know ye something of Legolas at all? My purpose for bein’ here was to visit with my old friend, but it seems the bloody elf has left for Minas Tirith. Whither are you bound?”

Bristle playfully nipped the mare that was trying to befriend him. His tawny forelock fell across his forehead, and the pony shook his stocky head proudly. He was a smug beast, with an equal amount of smugness to his gentleness. Bristle would never hurt anyone intentionally, but he was apt to play more than being obedient.

Gimli began to walk along the trail, with Thoroniel alongside of them. It seemed an understood thing that they would travel with each other for a while. Realizing that in truth he wanted someone to talk to, Gimli was happy that he and Bristle both had found a suitable companion.

Éomer watched the messenger gallop out of Edoras from his vantage point in Melduseld before answering Éowyn. Finally, after a long pause, the king turned to his sister. “They suspect something is amiss, but honestly, I don’t know more than they do. But I hope that this council will enlighten us more. It is horrific to think that there is danger threatening our way of life, but such things must be expected.”

Leaving his privy chamber, Éomer strolled through the halls and out onto the platform that lay above the stairs leading down into the village. Gazing out over his domain, he commented, “We are lucky, dear sister, to have this as our inheritance. I would never trade it for anything, not even the kingdom of Gondor can compare with here in my mind’s eye.”

A strong wind gusted, catching Éowyn’s hair and Éomer’s cloak. It was a gentle wind, but the sky above spoke of a storm. The steel-grey clouds came rolling in from the north, promising frightful storms. “I wonder if this is an omen,” Éomer asked himself, shivering not from the cold, but from the fear of the unknown.

Thoroniel looked at the Dwarf, nodding to his introduction. "I came looking for my brother, but I did indeed find him, not too soon before finding you out here. I am not from here, but rather I hail from Mithlond, on the shores in the West of these lands. I am very pleased to meet you, Gimli Gloin's son. Prince Legolas did indeed leave, but I suppose you know better than I as to where he went," she said in Elvish, but then repeated in Westron, fogetting about the fact that he did not speak Elvish.

"Forgive me for that, but I seem to have forgotten tha t Iwas not speaking to someone who knew Elvish, for that is all I have spoken in my long life here," she said softly. HEr horse snorted and danced away from the pony, giving it a glare. She snorted in his face, then kept her distance. Thoroniel laughed quietly and musically, speaking to the offended horse in Elvish to calm it.

She settled, then Thoroniel continued to ride beside the dwarf. HEr ears listened intently, then she stopped, motioning for Gimli to d othe same. They sat for a long while, only to see a hart bound across the path. SHe laughed uneasily.

"Ai, I am much too catious any more, but when you have seen as much as I have, you shall understand. The First Age here in Middle Earth had to be the worst by far. The Thrid is a close second I believe. Both times were filled with hate and war, but good prevailed at the end in both, and I looked forward to the Fourth to be filled with peace, which the land and all ancient creatures on it have longed for," she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.

She turned and looked back, hearing hoofbeats thrum rhythmically on the path. Sirioldad came riding up, stopping beside the two.

"Mae govennen, Thoroniel. Who might your companion be?," her brother asked. She todl him about Gimli and everything. Sirioldad bowed to Gimli. "It has been long indeed since I last saw your kind, Master Dwarf, or should I say Gimli, Gloinion. I am Sirioldad, Thoroniel's brother," he said with a wide smile.

Gandalf ruffled up Merry’s hair and then Peregrin’s hair. “Why, Master hobbit can’t an old friend come visiting,” he asked. The wizard winked and smiled warmly. “My business is my own and will be reveled when it need be. Now, shall we go have a spot of tea,” he asked, “Master Merry, I would like to thank-you for such fine Olde Toby.”

Merry nodded. “Not a problem, Gandalf. Come. Let us go have some tea,” the hobbit said leading the three of them to his home. He got some water and put it on to boil.

Gandalf watched the hobbit intently. His mustache wiggled slightly as he rubbed his teeth with his tongue.

~*~*~*~

Frodo rode along, looking at the trees and scenery. “It does me well to be on the road. This is such a fine day,” he commented as he held the reins of pony loosely in his hands. Frodo began to sing, slightly off key, the old walking song.

Frodo did not speak as he rode. He wanted to get to Merry’s home as soon as possible and he knew that it would be at least two days of riding before reaching Buckland.

As night drew around them, Frodo pulled on the reins of his pony. “I think it would be good to stop,” he said, “Our dear old beasts are surely in need of a rest and I certainly am famished.”

~*~*~*~

Merry served Pippin and Gandalf a small meal of a cold stew that his mother had created that involved cooked carrots and lamb as well as serving them some ale. Once the food was served until all had eaten their fill, Merry dismissed himself to go to his quarters.

Gandalf leaned forward. He looked at Pippin. “So, Master Peregrin, what do you make of Merry? He seems disturbed,” Gandalf said, “Or at least, he seems highly distracted.”

Sam was quiet for a long while after they started on their way. He had to agree with Mr. Frodo however, it was good to be back on the road. Especially without a surrounding fear or doom, and little rush. At least, that’s what Samwise thought for the moment. He smiled to himself, watching the trees grow taller as they went on their way.

He could hardly believe how quickly night had come. Having barely said a word all day, Sam cleared his throat a couple times before responding. "Ah! I've only just noticed how starving I am myself. We haven't eaten since we've left! However did we go this long..."

And he continued mumbling about missing tea time, and several meaningless comments on the ideas behind second breakfast. He soon lost all means of thought when he brought himself to rest upon a tree. Sighing, Sam's childish smile shown across his face. Yes, it was good to be back.

Pippin looked over at Gandalf. "He;s been having bad dreams, I think. Dreams of the Shire being overrun. I don't think he's been sleeping well at all." Pippin whispered to Gandalf.

He took a ship of ale and now watched his cousin more intently, as if trying to see if he could spot anything different about his cousin.

Eowyn hooked her arm in Eomer's. "The clouds certainly bring some sort of ill news. I wish I could say what it was." Eowyn said as she watched them.

Then she walked back into the room and sat down.
"When will we return to Edoras? Or shall we continue to ride to the other villages?" Eowyn asked.
--------
Legolas had been resting in his quarters for a while, but then he woke. He wanted to speak with Aragorn, to see if he could help him get ready for whatever was coming.

He walked down long halls to come to the throne room.
"Aragorn, I have warned you that something is coming, but do we have plans to prepare for what it is? I have come here to aid you in planning, if you wish." Legolas said, he waited for his reply.

Arwen hurried back to castle, trying carefully not to look worried. The last thing she needed was for the spies to realize their plan was known. If only she knew what the papers were. She quickly sat down in one of the many hallways to catch her breath. She watched as the servants past by, wondering how many of them were spies. She knew the majority of them were loyal to the king and queen, but she didn’t know who. She closed her eyes again for a moment, and when she opened them, she no longer so the hallway. Instead, she saw a small village, completely destroyed and burnt. A body lay on the ground, in a pool of blood and a woman kneeled beside it, crying. A Gondorian soldier walked up to her, and offered a hand in assistance. The woman quickly stood up and ran away in fear.

Arwen blinked and the vision was gone. She stood up again, and more fearful than before, quickly ran to the throne room. “Aragorn, I need to talk to you. Legolas, you should hear this, too,” she said immediately as she entered the room, and before they even had a chance to respond, continued on. “There are spies in the castle and they’ve stolen something. A paper, something important to aid the enemy. And I’ve had a vision. A village was destroyed, it’s people were killed. When our soldiers tried to help, though, they were afraid of us. I wish I knew what this all meant.”

Frodo laughed slightly. A strand of dark brown curly hair fell in front of his azure blue eyes. With a gentle touch, he moved it away from his forehead. Seeing an old and familiar oak tree, he hoped off his pony.

Removing the packs from his horse, Frodo sat them aside and pulled from them his bag of Pipeweed and his pipe and flint. Clambering up into the forks of the tree, he settled himself down and filled his pipe with the fine Pipeweed. Striking the flint, he lit the Olde Toby and then puffed on the stem, enjoying the rich, fruity aroma of this season’s crop.

“We went many a’ meals while on the quest. I do think that we shall survive going without a few. There is no harm in it, is there,” Frodo asked, looking around.

Peaking through the boughs of the oak tree was the nearly full moon. It glowed and cast a cool light on the world under her. He studied it for a while and then looked around. Finally, he settled his gaze on the top of Samwise’s head.

“Do you remember this place, Sam,” he asked quietly, “Perhaps not…but I do. This is where we saw the elves traveling so that they could sail to Valinor.”

Frodo’s voice trailed off as his mind did as well. Subconsciously, he rubbed the place where many years ago he had been stabbed. Someday soon, Frodo would be leaving this world for Valinor.

He would be sailing away from his friends and leaving the pains of his wounds behind. It was a bittersweet thought. He hated to have to leave. However, he also would be happy to leave all of his pains behind him.

He was tired of becoming so ill with his wounds. He hated how much of an invalid he became and that he put Sam through so much grief and woe because of his illness. Sam was too young to have to deal with such a large task of having to care for such an ill hobbit. Though, he has already been through so much, Frodo thought, sighing.

*~*~*

Gandalf frowned. The frown creased his face deeply. This news troubled the elderly wizard greatly. “You don’t know for sure,” Gandalf asked. He was surprised. Merry and Pippin were close – closer than any two hobbits he knew.

He picked up his mug of ale and took a swig of the cool liquid. For a long while, Gandalf sat there, contemplating Merry. Merry was ill from lack of sleep that, if he got any, was filled with troubles. He had seen it in his eyes. He had seen the fear and delicate condition Merry’s mental state was in. Gandalf wore a deep frown as he wondered if he should tell Pippin that Merry could be entering a very unstable time.

Pippin sighed sadly. "We used to be able to share everything, but Merry won't let me in on his troubles. I would help him if he would tell me, you know." Pippin said. He sounded a little upset that Merry wasn't telling him anything.

Then he looked up at Gandalf. "Is he ill, Gandalf? Is there something dreadfully wrong? Please tell me for I must know." Pippin said worriedly.
-----
Legolas was shocked by this news from Arwen. He knew now that these goblins were not simple goblins. Someone very smart was leading them.

"Aragorn, I think the person that sent the spies is the same person gathering the goblins. Whoever this person is he is determind to do something to destroy the world as we know it." Legolas said. He was very serious, this was getting to be a very dangerous situation, more than he had thought.

Eowyn went to the stables. They would be leaving for Edoras again, but she waited for her brother who was quite busy.
Eowyn felt troubled though. The dark clouds above meant something was going to happen, and it would be bad.

Then she heard the sound of sprinkling rain. She walked out and saw grey clouds were covering the sky now, and darker clouds were on their way.
Eowyn shivered, whatever was coming it was coming fast.

Eowyn rushed out to find her brother, her hair becoming damp from being in the rain.
"Eomer, we must leave for Edoras now. Darker clouds are coming, something evil is coming with them, I fear." Eowyn said.

"Our horses are ready to leave, I do not want to be away from home for too much longer." Eowyn said.

Thoroniel turned to Gimli, curious about him. "Master Gimli, fi iam inclined to ask, why do you come here with Elves? I know some Elves form friendships, may I inquire as to whom you have a friendship with here?," she asked softly.

Thoroniel turned sharply, her ears picking up a sound. A few moments later, a rabbit bounded across the path. She sighed softly, glad that was the only thing that came through. Her face clouded and she stared ahead, ignoring all around her. She began whispering in Elvish quickly, praying to the Valar. She felt evil, though it was faint, it was stil lenough to worry her. She looked over to Gimli, smling slightly to lessen the tension.

"Master Gimli, if we are to reach our destination, I would prefer to arrive sooner. Things feel wrong in the air and I would like to arrive safely to wherever we are headed. Master Gimli, to where are we headed? I have traveled with you thus far and have not the slightest clue as to where we are headed," she said, laughing softly.

Her horse tossed her head and looked back at Thoroniel, curious as to what made her friend laugh. Thoroniel looked around, taking in the sounds, sights, smells, and feelings the forest held.

Éomer sighed and looked at Éowyn, his blue eyes full of worry. "I think we all feel that there is something darker among us, and that is why we need to be away to the Citadel. I can only hope that we will come to some conclusion as to what is going on. I have heard word that Gandalf is about in the land again. What say you?"

A hostler led his chestnut gelding over to him, and Éomer gracefully mounted. The chestnut felt the tension in his hands and fretted, whickering. Éomer calmed his horse and muttered to it, "No need to worry, old boy. The storm will break soon, and we will know what to do."

And indeed the storm did break. Rain fell from the heavens with a vengeance, soaking the brother and sister to the bone. The chestnut shook his mane and lunged forward to Edoras and the safety of his stable.

While within the halls of a dwelling, the wind howled outside, piercing and cold. Éomer sat in front of a fire with a mug of ale to warm his hands. How dreary it was, he thought, taking a sip of the ale. It warmed him only slightly. A chill had settled on his heart, and it wouldn't be going away any time soon.

--------------------------------------------

Gimli bit his lip and kicked Bristle to move quicker. The little pony broke into an ungainly trot. "I am bound for Minas Tirith to seek my friend, Legolas. It might seem odd that we are in company together, but I can assure ye that Legolas an' I have been 'friends'"-Gimli used the word 'friends' lightly-"since the War. But there is a turn in the air, and I do not like it."

Bristle halted and planted his hooves in the ground. Gimli nudged the pony forward, but he wouldn't budge. "Come on, ye mangy, flea-bitten mudbag. We'll never get anywhere at this rate," the dwarf said wryly to Thoroniel. "But tell me somethin' o' yer purpose. Why are ye out here in the middle of the woods?"

Thoroniel looked over at Gimli and smiled faintly. "Well, in all honesty, I did not exactly plan to travel here, only looking for my brother. I found him, he is staying in this wonderous wood, and I am doomed to travel once more. There are many places I have not been in the new lands and I am curious to see them before I sail for Valinor and my friends that have long since passed. Tis a sad thing to watch the land fall to darkness and evil and then see it brighten with hope, but your own people cannot stay to enjoy it. The sea pulls at our hearts Gimli, and it is unfortunate at that," she said softly.

Her horse trotted forward a few paces, leaving the little pony behind. Thoroniel reined her around and made her wait for the pony to get moving once again. She tossed her head in annoyance, but the horse stopped and waited. Thoroniel turned to Gimli, curious of his and Legolas' friendship.

"Gimli, if I may be inclined to ask, how did yourself and Legolas find yourselves in a friendship such as this? I know I had a Dwarf who was a friend long ago in Beleriand, unfortunately he perished and we did not get to speak much. He had a good heart and was a kind person. You seem to have much the same teperament from what I gather from these short moments spent with you," she commented.

Gimli's chest swelled out proudly, and the same pride filled his voice though his tone was gruff. "Ye will not find many kind dwarves, mi'lady, and there are times when my good nature is tried sorely. Dwarves as a whole are proud, and tend to become indignant when others have the same arrogance as us.

"Ye asked about my friendship with Legolas? Probably the only reason we became...close I guess is the word I want to use here...is because after the Fellowship broke up, it was Aragorn, Legolas, the hobbits Merry and Pippin, and I who were together. When the hobbits were taken from us, we followed after them, and after fighting in Helm's Deep, at Pelennor, and at the very end, there is something in facing death that brings even the most unlikely people and races together. The same thing happened with Legolas and I. And I guess that is why I tolerate him now," Gimli finished with a lopsided smile.

"But I agree with ye..." he halted speech as he tapped the stubborn pony forward with his short legs. "about the lure of the sea. I might seem dimwitted, but I sense things are about to change, and many of the elves in Middle-Earth are going to be leaving. Are ye going to be one of them, miz Thoroniel?"

As they rode, Bristle tripped on a fallen log and stumbled, pitching the dwarf forward in the saddle. Gimli gripped the reins tightly and managed to keep his seat. Bristle whickered and nipped playfully at Thoroniel's horse's mane. Gimli chucked deeply and said, "Ye can't ever keep his spirits down."

Earele snorted and danced out of the way of the small pony. Thoroniel looked at Gimli, her face serious and slightly drawn as if in pain. "Ai, I should be one of those to leave Middle Earth. It is beautiful and I would stay if it were that my heart could bear it. I would be more loathed to leave Beleriand but it is long since lost, flooded under water. I love it here, but Valinor was first and will always be my home, no matter where I have lived for thousands of years," she said softly.

Her heart ached but she pushed it aside, focusing more on other matters for the moment. She looked to Gimli once again, curious.

"Now this Gondor you call it, how far away is it and what is it exactly? Are there any forests near or trees at least, I cannot bear to be surrounded by stone without some trees. It is a stone city, correct? From what I have gathered it seemed that way but I would hate to make assumptions that are wrong," she commented.

OOC: I cannot stay here. I can only have 4 rps - because of my hectic schedule. Also, I have no idea where our Sam is.

Legolas wasn't sure what to do with this news. Gondor was indeed in trouble.
"What do we do Aragorn? Lady Arwen, do you know anymore?" Legolas asked.

He really wasn't unsure of the situation still, other than there were spies. "They must all be connected with the leader of the goblins." Legolas said.

"What must we do. We had best make our actions swift." Legolas said determinedly.
------
Eowyn looked at Eomer, waiting for him to be ready to leave.
"Eomer, have we not spent enough time here? We had best return to Edoras." Eowyn said.

She waited for his reply. She rubbed the muzzle of her horse.

(Well, since people seem still eager to do this RP I thought I would post.)

Arwen shook her head, “I’m afraid that’s all I know. The only thing I don’t get is, why were they afraid of us? Are our soldiers traitors?” She stared at the wall for a moment and shook her head. “Of course not, most of them fought during the War of the Ring.”

Arwen thought a moment, “We need to find out who the spies are. But there are at least fifty servants, cooks, and stable hands. I have no idea how to find them though. I suppose we could spy on them, but if we were caught…it could be dangerous. We can’t trust anyone.”

(Anyone want to double as Aragorn and that bad guy? I PM'd Sahura and unless I get a PM back, we have neither)

Gimli turned his shaggy head and peered at Thoroniel from beneath his eyebrows. "There are some trees near Minas Tirith, but there are no great forests like ye find 'n the north," the dwarf said, struggling to maintain his balance as he slid sideways in the saddle. "I don't know if ye would fin' it to yer liking."

" 'Sfar as the city itself goes, it is large, made of white stone, with the Citadel looming o'er the rest. But ye were right in yer assumptions."

He fell silent, brooding over what she had told him about Valinor. Bristle picked up his head and stared at a deer that crossed the path. He sped into an ungainly canter, and Gimli tugged on the reins to slow the pony. Bristle halted neatly and reared to reach a leaf that was just over his head, knocking the dwarf to the ground.

Gimli stood and brushed himself off, grumbling and cursing under his breath. "If ye still wanted to leave for Valinor, miz Thoroniel, I wouldn't blame ye. Maybe that is where elves belong, as dwarves belong in caves and underground." He glared at the unruly pony. "Underground, and not with useless animals that don't know when to keep their hooves on the ground."

Éomer agreed with Éowyn, and they returned to Edoras.

Three days later, the siblings and a band of Rohirrim galloped out of the main city gates along the road that led to Minas Tirith. It would be there where they would get the answers they so desired and the foreboding that filled Éomer's heart would be quelled.

*sigh* This rp has so much potential... Ah well, I give up. Seems like I'm the only one left who still wants it to go on.
