Post Book Club Assignments

We will start our discussion of Chapter1 of The Children of Hurin on July30th.
However it is important to understand the world where this story takes place. I'd recommend that everyone also read the introduction, and we'll start our discussions, this week, based on the information we glean from the introduction.

We've still got a week to go over the introduction, before we start on Chapter One; does anyone have anything they'd like to diiscuss or bring to our attention before we begin?

The questions and comments on chapter 1 will be posted tomorrow in the late afternoon - Eastern Daylight Time (Greenwich -5 hours).

Today, August 27th, we'll move on to chapter III; The Words of Hurin and Morgoth. As this is a very short chapter we'll likely only spend a week on it.

Due to family ( and christmas shopping) commitments I won't be posting the questions and illustrations for Chapter XII, The Return of Turin to Dor-Lomin, until Dec26th, at the earliest.

There are three chapters left to discuss in The Children of Hurin , and I intend to bring them up at the rate of one chapter per week; starting on Feb 18th, with Chapter XVI, The Coming of Glaurung.
I'm going to try to bring up some questions and illustrations each Monday followed; by a chapter quote a couple of days later.
