We were one in the same, running like moths to the flame. You'd hang on every word I'd say, but now they only ricochet.

I am assuming that Durin and Ellirwen are trying to use the 'Upload Avatar' field in the Edit Profile feature. I will repeat what I have posted a couple of times before:

The Upload Avatar field no longer functions. If you want to upload an avatar, you must first upload your picture to a host site like Photobucket, obtain the URL for the picture, and then enter it into the Avatar URL field.

Note: Before you enter the URL into the Avatar URL field, you must:

1) make sure the Upload Avatar field is clear by deleting whatever you have tried to upload; and
2) submit the change.

After that, you can enter the URL in the Avatar URL field and submit it. The URL should not have [img][/img] in it.

Just checked my own profile, Menegilda. There is a notice "(max upload size 2Mb)", for one. My Gandalf is only 2.8 kilobytes (!!) large, and it is also 80 by 80 pixel. The latter may have a reason. The graphics info for your picture shows 53.4 kb, so that should be no problem. The 461px × 330px might be one, though.

But our more experienced members (aka mods) should be able to give you more useful pointers.

Gandolorin is correct that avatars may not be more than 80 by 80 pixels and a maximum size of 2mb. If you want to use the photo, you'd have to resize it, and, I suggest you be sure there is no copyright protection on it. If there is, and you still want to use it, you might want to contact the owner and ask for their permission.

I did the same recently to use a beautiful drawing of Yavanna for the Yavanna realm. The artist on deviantART was kind enough to granted me approval.
