Hello everyone! My name is Kacper. I
I am 13 and I was born in Poland but immigrate to the UK in which I have lived in for the past 11 years or so now. (I love stereotypes so make you sure to send your best ones)
Pretty sure Im a male (last time I checked)
I was looking to learn Sindarin after hearing that you can learn the elf languages in Lotr (which I had already been a big fan of) when I saw a 14 year old forum post where someone said they had made a course to learning Sindarin on www.councilofelrond.com which is what bought me here! I am just starting the course and I can already see that this is gonna take a while (what the hell are mutations?)
In terms of hobbies I am quite interested in video games (add me on Steam, "PartOfEngland" Lotr of course, and I do enjoy Chemistry a lot. Oh and I really enjoyed the show breaking bad.
I have read the hobbit and watched it and Ive watched Lord of The Rings and am looking to read it soon (seems like a challenge).
I quite like the design of this website and Im looking forward to being part of this community!

My name is Arevelion, I am 33 years of age, and I found this website while searching for information concerning the burning questions I have about the elvish languages.

Someday I hope to learn at least one of the elvish languages, but for now life endeavors prevent me from doing anything more than just asking a few questions.

Thank you for creating the site.

Hello Moosemansam1987, welcome to CoE! Sorry for the late greetings, I hope you've enjoyed your time with us so far. If you'll forgive me for asking, why does your username contain 1987 if you are 16 years old? Usually such dates denote the birth year, but if you're 16 it can't be that.

Welcome to CoE, Tabby!

I’m guessing our Newbies Moderator gondolinian will also be posting a greeting here, but I’d like to point you to the “NEWBIES INTRODUCTION THREAD - Please introduce yourself here!!” thread in the “Sticky Topics” above. If you wish, you could give other members of CoE some more information about yourself and your interest in JRRT.

I see you’ve already found the “Languages” subforum. dirk_math is something of our Elvish languages sage there. (Me, I'm a total dud on Elvish languages, more of a Games nerd ...)

Hello TigerTabby, welcome to CoE. I've moved your introduction to the proper thread (Newbies Introduction Thread), because otherwise our newbies forum would soon be cluttered with hundreds of 'hi I'm new' threads . You've come to the right place to learn Elvish, definitely check out our Elvish forums. There's even a studdy-buddy thread there. Good luck and enjoy!

Hello!
Name: Maenil
Gender: female
Where are you from (country/state)? United States
How did you find CoE?: I was searching the net for ways to elf-up my room, and found some articles here. As an added bonus, I discovered that you offered "lessons" in Sindarin!
What are your hobbies and interests?: reading, writing, singing, and sometimes drawing.
Have you read the 'Lord of the Rings' & 'The Hobbit' and/or seen the movies?: I've seen all the LotR movies, read LotR, The Hobbit, and the Silmarillion.
Do you have any questions about finding your way around CoE?: Noooo... not really.

P.S. I'm kind of socially awkward, so if I seem a little stiff on any of my posts, sorry! I usually don't get comfortable chatting on sites until I've been around for a few months. :S

Hi everyone!
My name is Morelkor and I'm 20
I'm female and from Western Australia
I've stumbled across CoE more than once while trying to satisfy my curiosity on various Lotr topics and I decided to join.
My hobbies/interests include art, reading and music.
I have read the Hobbit, Lotr, Silm, Unfinished Tales and Kullervo and have watched all the movies.
I don't have any questions at the moment, the site looks pretty easy to use, even for me.
I ain't been droppin' no eaves, sir, honest.

Welcome to CoE, Morelkor! Looks like you chose your user name in a similar way as I chose mine. Though your name shows a deeper knowledge of Middle-earth than that of people who have “only” read The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings, never mind those who have “only” watched the movies.

There are plenty of threads discussing JRRT’s world, especially in the “Movies Discussion” and “Books Discussion” forums (for specialists, the “Languages” forum), and to a degree in the “Tolkien Related Discussion” forum. Personally, I can also recommend the “Games Forum”, but then I’m an incurable games nerd and partisan on the topic.

Hi Mellons! (Did I spell that right?)

My name is Legolas the Elven, though I do go by Leggy, or Monkey. I joined CoE because of my avid love of all things Tolkien, and my constant thirst for knowledge of anything Lotr or Hobbit. I've read the majority of his books, and seen all six movies. I fell in love with this site and subscribed the first time I saw it, and have told many about it. My hobbies and interests include Reading, writing, archery, anything Tolkien related, and violin. I don't have any questions, except I was wondering how to navigate the realms? I joined one( Vaire the Weaver, for my love of lore and legend), and can't seem to locate any discussions or forums.

Welcome to CoE, LegolastheElven. Sadly I can't help you with your Realms question, I've never joined one. But normally you should be able to see a forum section specifically for your realm in the forums list. You should be able to join the Realm specific threads through there. Not sure how active the Realm of Vaire is these days, our site has been around a long time and many members have moved on. A bit like The Last Homely House at the time of the events of the Lord of the Rings.

Hi LegolastheElven, welcome to CoE. I had the same problem (probably) after joining Vairë, in that I did not know what to expect. The Forum “Realm of Vairë the Weaver” shows up below the Forum “Realms” and above the Forum “Roleplaying”. The Subforums that should be shown directly are “Realm of Vairë the Weaver” (perhaps a bit confusingly), “Vairë: Weave of Time”, “Vairë: Web of Weavers” (this is where the Realm games threads are to be found), “Vairë: Weaving Patterns”, and “Vairë: Storied Webs”.

Enjoy yourself on Site and Realm!

Noob here!

Name-Glendolin, Glenn
Georgia, USA
25yo Male
Came to CoE after a quick "learning elvish" google search. I can see that I have quite the path ahead of me.
I have read the Hobbit, waiting on my copy of the Silmarillion from amazon. I haven't read LotR, but have watched the extended versions a couple times.

Time to head on over to my Sindarin workbook. I'm sure I'll be back soon with enough questions to keep everyone busy
