Which three?


I'm trying to decide on either Nienna, Nessa, or Vairë.


I think you would like it in Vaire.

I think you would enjoy Vaire as well -we have threads (even a forum ) devoted to sharing stories and poetry -and many of the members share a love for history (check out the charter here or if you would like more info about our activities feel free to PM one of the realm leaders -we would be happy to answer any questions you may have). However there are other realms I'm sure you would enjoy as well -most realms are accepting and full of friendly people :love:, you would be most welcome in Vaire but don't feel pressured into joining any particular one.

OK, I'm not even sure if I'm even going to join a realm, but I'm just very curious about them and was kind of wondering if I did join ... um.. which one? There are two I think that may fit me but unfortunately I don't remember their names...
Well I guess I'll put some stuff down about myself:
I love writing stories (not poetry!)
I'm a bit crazy because I really like rock an roll
I'm very artisic (and am rather good at it, from what I'm told)
Reading ain't my thing, but when I'm in that mood I'll read forever especially if it's a good fantasy, or romance
I enjoy drama, (especially on the RPGs) acting is fun!
I'm always the one to make a fool of myself, I'm a bit loud, but I know when to be quiet and can be a goodies-two-shoes.
I love nature, hiking, seeing new places.
I always love to laugh and make others laugh, and if you don't have a sense of humor or can't make sarcastic remarks you won't survive in my family or life! lol

Sorry if the list is long or a bit all over the place..... I'm not too good with talking about myself.... I think...

I'm trying to figure out what realm I should maybe join.
I'm only able to be on the internet every other weekend so I don't know whether I sould join a realm.

My personality:i write stories alot and love it.
I LOVE reading especially fantasy and medevil times stuff.
I'm crazy according to my friends I accept this happily.
I'm not good at being bad, scratch that I suck at being bad
I guess you could say I'm compassionate I help people alot i guess
I am the funny person who makes everyone laugh.
I've gt a bad temper when I'm mad, it takes alot to make me mad though.
I like outside especially mountains and the sky and nighttime.

I am bad at talking about myself sorry! Please help!!!!

I hope this gives you a bit of insight. I would say that Varda sounds like a great choice, but I think you fit very well with Vairë as well.

I'm trying to figure out which realm to join. Here's a little about me:

- I love art, it's a big part of my life...drawing, painting, etc.
- I love taking care of people.
- I like to camp and hike, or just sit and watch a stream or the mountains for awhile.
- I'm trying to get into gardening and landscaping.
- I'm into reading books and poetry, but not writing poetry
- I'm really shy when I don't know people...but eventually I'll open up!

Ummm, I think that's it. Thanks for any help!

Or Vana! art is a big thing for us, poetry, reading, all catagories of those things and of course Vana is the Lady of the Garden...need I go on?? But I am just speak on be half of your intrests as Yuna did. But if you do join, introduce yourself!

I think Lórien is a very good advice, as is Vána. If you can't choose, I would suggest you PM one or both of the Realm Heads or Leaders. They can tell you more of their own Realm. Trust me, it's not a strange thing to do, I did it myself when I was tied between two Realms.

I went through the Realm pages looking for the "traits" of each Realm. I mostly did this because it seems that some Realms get overlooked and others are repeated over and over again... So I thought why not show everyone what the Realm traits really are? Again, I took these from the Realm Pages on CoE which can be found here. Some were more descriptive than others, but I tried to get everyone in here...

people in ulmo are also very creative. We have rpg's up and running and we have a post your writing thread that alot of members contribute to.

Hmm. Why I do not disagree with a lot of members of Ulmo being creative writers, is this just a trait of the Realm or a true trait of Ulmo himself? A lot of Nienna members are horse-lovers, but as Nienna never showed any special fondness of horses, it is not a Realm trait.

I'm mostly asking because creativity is often a trait everyone seems to share at CoE and is probably one of the most common for all the Realms... so you can almost say that if you are creative, you belong in any Realm! I just want to clarify before I put another Realm under creativity... [After all, the info on the Main Ulmo Page didn't say anything about creativity in members...]

Was Ulmo described as particularly creative in the Silmarillion?

I think your list is great, Annûniel. It covers everything about the Valar, but still, you almost have to look at a realm's news page and the whole charter. Your list leaves out the personality of the realm. A lot of the realm's personality doesn't always specifically match the personality of the Valar from which it gets its name. Some personalities (like Lorien and Este) are virtually identical until you look at what the realm is really about. No where in the Sil or any other Tolkien book does it say that Lorien liked smores, but it's a very important aspect of our realm just like I think llamas are to Nessa.

Thanks TLA. I know I won't be able to convey the true feeling of the Realm, but people who come here and ask... well that's what they usually get anyway, don't they?

And I know there isn't anything about Nienna eating flavored socks... But most of us have been bitten by that bug. Lol!

I agree and the people from the realms will also be still able to give individual information regarding their realms, as you said the list just makes it easier for people to see (rather than going through all the charters of every particular realm) and makes sure that some realms don't get overlooked

I think that was really good idea, Annuniel.

While a realm often takes on a personality somewhat different than the Valar, it all starts with the Valar. Someone who joins the realm of Nessa, for example, must feel some connection to the Vala herself and the person she stands for.

A really in-depth list might be nice to have, though, sometime in the future. I know when I was looking for a realm, I had to study all the realm charters extensively. Maybe we could make separate lists of realm and Valar characteristics to post on our news pages?

LoL, TLA. Llamas are like our mascot over in Nessa. We love them to death!

All the realms are great! And in any of them you'll find friends and usually feel at home. The only problem may be that you have charatistic's of all the realms, or say three or four have things in common. That list that you provided is an absolute great way for people to read and review what the realm is about, because sometimes reading the news page really isn't enough, and you miss alot.

I had that problem, I was suited to mandos and orome....so instead I ventured away from my traits and chose Lorien, so it can work in reverse aswell, as all the members have friendly members and helpful heads/leaders!

I was an inactive member on my Realm (Ulmo) for six months, so I was kicked out. But now I'm not so sure if it's still the right one for me.

Here are some general descriptions of me:

I play the violin and I have a great passion for my playing and for music in general (especially classical).

I'm somewhat reserved, very emotional, emphathic, and love to read.

Psychology is intriguing to me, and writing is my greatest passion and interest of all.

I'm very creative; I love creating works of art (abstract). I believe that there's some good in everyone.

I love water--sands of the beaches, the water, sunshine on my face. I also love animals and nature. I really enjoy hiking in the forest, walking on the beach, and well, anything that has to do with me immersing myself in the beauties of this world.

I love to read the classics in literature, and even those trashy romances (yay for cliches!).

Oh, and did I mention that I'm obsessed with Lord of the Rings?

No one is ever 'kicked' out of a realm but we do remove members that are not active. So for those of you that are unsure of which to join keep this in mind. When you choose a realm you have to remain in that realm for 3 months. After 3 months you are free to join another. But when you join a realm you have to be an active member. Don't join a realm just to be able to have a realm icon in you sig line or because it's a popular realm. Find one that suits you and your interests.

Become active with the other realmers. Don't just lurk in the shadows. The realms allow you to meet and interact with other CoE members on a smaller scale but the main thing is that you participate . If you join one and find that it's not really what you want then just hang on for 3 months and then try another. What's the point in joining a realm if your not going to participate in it? Join the activities. Create an activity. Participate in the inter-realm activies like the 'Pen-pals' or the 'Eowyn Challenge'. The most important thing is that you participate. I can't stress that enough. We have some realms now that are dying because no one participates and that's sad.

So find one that sounds like fun to you and join it. Then check out all that they have and jump in. You won't know till you try...

luvlijah, I would recommend Ulmo, Lorien, or Nienna. You'll fit in perfectly in any of those as long as you participate.

You could join Varda. You have so many interests that are alike with us, Vardians. :love: You could love stars too.
