Chmiel is so incredibly talented. I love her work. This is simply amazing! Poor Maedhros looks utterly beaten.
The expressions on both elves’ faces are absolutely perfect. I agree with truegirl – you really pity Maedhros.
I love your attention to detail – especially hard to do when working with watercolor – this is great!

Morgoth imprisoned Maedhros on Thangorodrim by hanging him from his right wrist with a steel band embedded in
the rock. After a number of years, Fingon rescues Maedhros by cutting his hand free (amputates it).
Ugghh…that last part sounded horrible! Sorry for the pathetic summary, SOTD, but I hope it helped! 🙂

This picture is wonderful. The amount of emotion portrayed by Chimiel in this picture shows that she is good.

Captures the heart of this particular story so well. I feel so sorry for Maedhros – like others have said, I
think that out of all the sons of Feanor, he was the “noblest” and basically good at heart. It was all the
Oath’s doing that he ended up as he did. I really do pity him – and Maglor.
I have no words. I opened this picture and I got this FEELING. I could feel the emotions from the picture.
