I like the picture,..gloomy and dark,..not bad. One of the rare pictures of Mirkwood and it is pretty close.

mirkwood was infested with dark creatures, so i guess this illustration was rather realistic.
what sane being would build a gleaming white city in the middle of an orc infested forest!

to be so) but i like a pretty, mysterious, glittery place-its just feels more elven. (to me)
hm that’s nice but i prefer the draw made by Tolkien.don’t think the hall to be so dark i mean the forest is
full of orcs and others nasty things like that, not the heart of the Kingdom! it’s the only safe place!
Thranduil tried to make his palace like the elvish cities of old, but didn’t quite make it.
Mirkwood was “Greenwood”. Imagine what the king went through, unable to stop the evil infesting his forest.
