   well, i love tolkiens work, but that just looks terrible. it looks more like a slab of rock than a tower.

    Considering Orthanc was hewn from a spire of rock, this looks fairly accurate to me.

    If you squint closely at the top you can see the porch that Grima Wormtonge through the Plantir off of!
