  • Aglarendis or Lissëlindë, I answer to either, though nowadays, I tend to prefer Lissëlindë. It means "Sweet Melody" in Quenya. I am totally blind, have ben since birth, but Tolkien's world needs no sight to enjoy its beauty and wonder. Reading a great deal and having a few friends who are great at describing things also helps me to be able to use my imagination to understand both Tolkien's world and the real world.
I love online roleplaying games such as Muds. I also enjoy telling stories involving tolkien's elves. Much to my frustration, I find it hard to sit still and write the stories, though I will happily tell them to whoever is brave enough to listen.
My most favorite of the elves, hands down are Findarato, also known as Finrod (The friend of men, the wonderful musician, the compassionate king, the oathkeeper, the loving friend who spoke of estel with Andreth. And of Course he and Amarië got back together somehow, so she's included in my list of favorites too), Arafinwë, also known as Finarfin (I am always wanting to know what happened to him after he turns back from following Fëanor), Macalaurë, also known as Maglor (The greatest musician under Ulmo that ever there was, and the most compassionate of the seven sons of Fëanor), Altariel far better known as Galadriel (One of my heros when I first read Lord of the Rings over 20 years ago), Elrond (Another hero and particularly admired because he is a healer and loved Aragorn like a son. Naturally, he and Celebrian are also happily together after such a long separation), and, believe it or not, though far too little is known about him, Pengolodh, the great Elvish scribe without whose efforts, we would know very little of the eldar.
As to my favorite valar, that's a hard choice to make, but I would have to say Nienna, Estë, Manwë, and, the one I will champion against all naysayers, Námo!

I think that's about it from me for now. Feel free to send me a message, I enjoy meeting and getting to know new tolkien addicts.
