I think the transformation from ‘hero to cry-baby’ , also has to do with Frodo’s age in the movie. In the book he’s like, a old and wise man. But in the movie he’s much younger, and although he might be 33, the viewer who never read the book, still thinks he’s something like 18, far too young to lead the group. So it would be strange if such a little hobbit would handle the situation as a man like Aragorn. So, I like Elijah very much, but they’d better chosen an older actor!
