Personality: Caradan is a scholar. He is not very sociable and prefers his books to people. He finds it difficult to make friends but is loyal to those with whom he does establish a friendship. He is likely to become totally absorbed in a theory and will persue his research to the exclusion of everything else. He is particularly interested in the history of the Last Alliance and the fate of Isildur. He carries a knife but doesn't expect to use it as a weapon. He thinks of it as something for sharpening pens or cutting meat.

Appearance: Tall and thin with untidy red hair. His clothes and hands are usually ink-stained. He bites his nails. His clothes are usually grey or brown and he carries an old leather satchel, containing his scrolls, pens and inks. The knife is used more for sharpening pens than as a weapon. He has brown eyes with dark eyelashes. His eyes give his face a very intense, rather un-nerving expression.
