Eolynde of Rohan (Eolynde)
Eolynde’s parents were killed when she was a young woman of about fifteen years. Her father, a soldier, died in battle and her mother died shortly afterwards of an illness; some said it was actually her broken heart that killed her.
An elderly aunt, not wanting to see the intelligent and lively young girl living on the streets, took Eolynde into her home and her heart. The aunt, a former Shieldmaiden, encouraged her niece to follow the same path, and so Eolynde gradually learned the skills and arts necessary to battle alongside the men.
As she grew older, Eolynde gradually became more and more solitary and introspective. Her former bubbly personality was covered by a thick veneer of stoicism; she became known as a brave, if somewhat overly daring young woman who would join battle at any time with any foe. Today she lives to fight, to avenge her father and to carve a place for herself amongst the Rohirrim.
