Personality: Runya is brave but quiet, and is usually happy on her own, persuing a hobby or doing a job (though she detests needlework). She likes nothing better than to ride over the open fields on Alden before it quite gets light, with the wind whipping in her face and the early morning birds crying out their song to the rising sun.
Runya, although she will help people in trouble, is not very good at following orders and very much has a mind of her own. Although she enjoys being on her own, there are times when she is bursting with the desire to go out and be in the middle of things. She enjoys attention, although she does not crave it.
Appearance: Runya is strong and fairly tall, with red-brown, flyaway hair and grey eyes. Her skin is tanned and boasts quite a few scars (mostly from falling off of Alden). On her upper right arm, she wears a bracelet given to her by her mother and father on her tenth birthday, and her green shield bears her family coat of arms: three golden, clenched fists.
History:
Runya lived and grew up in Meduseld with her father and mother; she was an only child. Their first child, a cheerful boy named Delshad, had died of smallpox aged just two. Runya was treasured, and perhaps a little oversheltered, and her parents strove their hardest to make sure no harm befell her. On her tenth birthday, they gifted to her a bracelet which had been a family heirloom for generations, and which was said to bring good luck to the wearer and his allies, as well as having many as yet undisclosed abilities.
Sadly, out riding around the Riddermark about a year later, she was set upon by a band of slavers and captured. Alden was stolen and put to work dragging a heavy cart, and Runya was forced to march with a huge group of other slaves to an unknown destination.
