McKellen Asks Jackson for Hobbit Adaptation
Sir Ian is reluctant to give up the robes and pointy blue hat. In fact, he’s pushing for a serial version of The Hobbit to be made once the trilogy is finished. Jackson and the other LOTR writers have cited the long, meandering storyline of The Hobbit as a supreme challenge for a film, which is why McKellen thinks television is an appropriate medium.

*sighs* It would be lovely if they could do that. *nudges PJ* make The Hobbit!
If there is some sort of petition to sign or whatever, I’m there! Please, please, PJ, make the Hobbit. Although the animated movie is cute, one of the calibur of the LotR trilogy would be awesome!
Wow! That would be great! Our family has been hoping for a movie of The Hobbit ever since we heard the Lord of the Rings was being made. Make sure Weta Workshop signs on again, too. Can you imagine how well they would make Smaug? Then, Peter Jackson can film The Silmarilion. That ought to be good for another two or three year long series.
I would hate it as a t.v. series! What if it was on some channel that people that don’t have cable (namely, me!) can’t get? And then they would have to have the same episode on like every day of the week so nobody misses it. It would be much better on the big screen. Besides, they would get more money for a movie.
It would be gorgeous to have the Hobbit as a film!
