If I Died Today
If I died today
Would you cry on my passing?
If my soul fades away
Would you morn me everlasting?
If I died today
Would you throw my things away?
Or would you keep them in a box
And admire them day-by-day.
If I died today
Would you remember me?
In your thoughts and your prayers
In your tears and your scares.
If I died today
Would you remember me?
As your friend or your foe
Or as stone in the cold.
Have I touched your heart?
Have I touched your soul?
Is it good or is it bad?
Please let me know.
If I died today
Would you cry on my passing?
If my soul fades away
Would you morn me everlasting?

*sob* lovely! just lovely! awesome and intense emotion! I love it!
This is so good, and rather sad for me, as I sometimes find myself thinking things along those lines. Keep up the good work!
Such thoughts as these as to be confronted by the line “If I died today” sounds like a death-knell to the reader, meaning that the writer knows how to touch our hearts very deeply and keenly. Simple statements like this one are usually the ones that truly do sieze our hearts and are the ones we remember afterwards. Skillful writing, very intriguing! Enter this in that contast with the love and care you used to write this and you have a good chance!
