Best scene: difficult to say, so many, but the scene in FOTR in which Aragorn sends Frodo away and faces the Uruk-hai alone, is really magnificent!! Helms deep is very nice to, as is the beginning of the battle at minas tirith (the whole build-up towards the actual battle) and of course the Grond-scene.

Best scene: From the book or movie? From the book there are two, both in Return of the King:
Firstly, between Gimli and Éomer about Galadriel. Éomer had spoken ill of Galadriel previously and now he tells Gimli that she is not the fairest woman he has ever seen. He says, Had I seen her in other company, I would have said all that you could wish. But now I will put Queen Arwen Evenstar first, and I am ready to do battle on my part for any who deny me. There is something about Gimli's reply which always moves me and makes me a little weepy: 'You have chosen the Evening; but my love is given to the Morning. And my heart forbodes that soon it will pass away forever.'
The second takes place at the end of the book, at the Grey Havens when Frodo is saying goodbye to Sam. It is the speech which begins, I tried to save the Shire, and it has been saved, but not for me. You have no idea how pleased I was when I saw that line had made it into the movie, I was mouthing the words along with Frodo through my tears.
In the movies I have too many favourite scenes to mention. The above is most definitely up there, as is the beginning of Fellowship of the Ring, when we first see the Shire and hear Gandalf singing The Road Goes Ever On..., that was the moment in the cinema when I knew that the movies were going to be ok. I also adore the scene in Return of the King where Gandalf reassures Pippin that death isn't all that bad, it's a beautiful scene and makes me cry every time. In fact, I cry the entire way through Return of the King.

Best scene: I really should learn how to choose Well I love the scene with Aragorn en Legolas in TTT, when they're standing in the Glittering Caves, and the armies of Saruman are standing outside Helms Deep. I love the way they switch between Elvish and English; when you get emotional you switch to your motherlanguage, and I think they worked that out very well! Besides that scene I also love the scene in the (EE?) FotR, when Aragorn and Boromir are sitting under a tree in Lothlórien, and Boromir describes the White City and they way they'll be welcomed. I love the fact that he starts to see him as a brother instead of an enemy at that moment. :heart: And well, of course I also love the cliché scenes; when Aragorn and Arwen are standing on the bridge in Rivendell for example, or when they meet again at Aragorn's crowning ceremony.
