Well,..it looks like they would be burning some old corps. And they don’t look as hobbits, they wear boots.
I agree with emmsie. Is that grima? Shouldn’t he be stabbing Saruman?

Grima’s already dead. Saruman is suposed to turn into a skeleton. “About the body of Saruman agrey mist
gathered, and rising slowly to a grey height like like smoke from a fire, as a pale shrouded figure it loomed
over the Hill….and the shrivelled face became rags of skin upon a hideous skull.”
Anyone notice one of the huts seems to be an outhouse?
aren’t hobbit holes one story tall? The one behind them has at least two storys.
I think this is pretty cool. Perhaps a slightly morbid scene, but a nicely done one from the book nonetheless.
This is one of my favourite parts in the book, but I’m not a fan of this painting…

I assume the tree that has been shown as cut down in the picture is the party tree.
