what is it? a dwarf? since i havent finished the silmarillion yet, i suppose it is in there>
Nono, that’s Treebeard! Look at the wood patterns on his face!
I think it’s Ghan-Buri-Ghan like the title says
and the cookie goes to eru!! yes its ghan buri ghan, yes it really is him, john howe says thats who it is
and so im not going to argue that one!
he was in ROTK, right?
Ghan-Buri-Ghan is one of my favourite characters. Wild-men are really cool!
Yup he was in ROTK
he does look alot like a dwarf, if i had no other reference thats what i would guess the picture to be!
i don’t know who Ghan-Buri-Ghan is. tell me, please
Ghan-Buri-Ghan is a man that leads the Rohirrim to Minas Tirith in Gondor in ROTK. Personally I think he looks
a little too dwarfish. I mean, Tolkien has so few men in his books, they need to be more mannish! At first I
thought it was Gimli! That would be scary.
Scary…
wild men are supposed to be short and stumpy kind of people. not exactely mannish like gondor and rohan men
exactly k.it took me awhile to remember who he was though.nice picture!
Hm. NOt exactly like I pictured him, but an accurate depiction nonetheless!
Hmmm… not the way I thought he would look like, but we’ll see, won’t we. 🙂
hes cute!!!
He’s very nice, but I didn’t think him like that. ><
very nice, though i did think that he would be more dwarvish looking than entish
He does look entish, I imagined him to be kinda like a caveman (?!)
If he was in the movie, I think PJ should have played him…
hehe I thought it was an ent… It looks like an ent+dwarf than a wild man
Are you sure that’s a wild man or a disformed ent?!
That guy looks just like a staalo. Staalo is a kind of troll from the sámi (or lapish) mytology. Wery cool!
i think if you take a lot of time and look, you will understand the coloring…also remember to refer to the
Pikomen(I cant remember right now but the statues up to the Haunted Mounted)
i like it very much. though i didn’t imagine it looking like this.
which book is he in?
He’s in RotK. Cool guy.
Boy am i gald they didn’t do a whole body pic. Ghan Buri Ghan only wore a grass skirt *shudder*
I thought he was tree beard at first!! LOL!
Hmmmm… well i… uh….. hmmmmmm…. so THAT’s what wildmen look like…. i uhhhh…. no comment…
hmmmm… not how i imagined him, that’s all i’ll say
what is that?! I thought he was human!
Ah the Ghan-Buri-Ghan, they are so…ummm…fascinating…in a way. hmmm 0_o
wow!
nah. too treeish, if ya ask me
I agree with Sharkey (kinda ironic, considering site names, huh?).
haha yes… i wonder if the artist knew people would argue so much over his work.
is this guy staring at the moss on the tree or wat man
They describe these in the Unfinished Tales. COOL!!!!!
A litle hairier than what I pictured Wild Men being…
Seem to be the same backgound as the one Faramir had. Marvelous.
not exactly as I saw Ghan-Buri-Ghan i thought he had a red fuzzy beard
i think i have to agree with Lady Eowyn Bloom. it looks more like a deformed ent. in a cool way, but i-
only just worked out he’s not a tree. probably just the colouring.
Looks more like an early sketch for Treebeard.
I was thinking some sort of tree gnome or something. either way it’s cute!
it’s one of the wild men that helps out the Rohirrim in the battle of Pelennor Fields. it’s in the book.
funny looking wild man I rember him in the book I think
Hmmm, I think it should look a bit more human-like.
I agree with you, BlueAngel116
Eeeee! What IS it???????
This fits the description in the book, but I see him as looking more human.
it looks like he has little green cat ears. while i did think he was really hairy and kinda stumpy this…
…was not what i pictured. but to each his or her own!
*giggles* I always liked Ghan-Buri-Ghan in the books..too bad he wasn’t in the movie.
thats actually really close to how i pictured him! maybe just a tad less hairy. ;-p
um, sorry, not how I pictured him… 😀 pretty anyway…
Ghan-Buri-Ghan helped out the Rohirrim in ROtK, no?
the tattoos on his face are really cool. he does look a lot like a shorter, thicker treebeard though.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh *must go see thyrapist, nightmares for 2 weeks*
this reminds me of the guy who introduced me to LotR…
Where exactly in the books is Ghen-Buri? I have his LOTR card, and this, but…
woooooooooowww….SWEET! =3
arya, he is in rotk and he helped erm someone do somthing can someone help me with this i forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ghanburigahn is the leader of the wild men in the druadan forest. he helped the good guys in the battle of
pellenor by leading them thru the forest. aragorn gave them the right to live in the forest undisturbed.
y does everyone ask questions about the book here? there’s an encyclopedia for that
It’s a pity they didn’t put the Wild Men into the movies.
he would be awesome in the movies, interested in how they would do the drudan speach (drudanic?) in it, lots
of clicks and stuff. wish they were in the movie! i imagined him more human, but small and thin Gollum-dwarf
He looks like dwarf-lion hybrid
very cool and descriptive
