The buildings look so modern… Or is it just me?
that’s not Rivendell, that’s Valois or perhaps a very small version of Versailles. what’s with the spiderweb?
I agree Rivendell is open not all garded like this.. The best thing I have seen is the movie one
it’s pretty, but not how i see rivendell at all
i think the spider web and the bare twiggy bits are there to show that although rivendell is all sunny and
calm the outside world is darker.
I didn’t know Elrond is actually father of Snow White and has evil wife,..that looks like from another tale.

I *do* like it (yeah, people can change their mind) – I always pictured the Last Homely House to look
very different, more like a house out of wood – but this sort of grows on me

not rivendell, rivendell is a house, not a fotress. but its an excelant painting, completely amazing.
Umm no that’s not Rivendell… it looks like some university from the 1800s, w/a small version of Bree inside
beautiful painting but its not elegant enough for rivendell (maybe i jst hav the movie version in my head!)
It’s actually similar to how I pictured Rivendell the first time I read The Hobbit.

The palace itself doesn’t seem right but the surrounding country side is breathtaking
The buildings are not as I had imagined the Last Homely House, but the scenery and skay are to die for.
I like the mist and the birds … it’s so pretty … *sigh*
Very nice painting but to much “Middle Ages” style of castle to my likings. Rivendell is much older.
